Chapter Eleven

~.Alison’s POV.~

After breakfast, the ‘Disney’ group, as Joe now called us all, headed over to the on-deck pool for a swim after we had all dashed back to our cabins to change. The pool wasn’t all that crowded today since everyone was busy packing their clothes, not worrying about the last-minute dip.

I was relaxing on my beach chair while I watched Joe and Nick out in the water. They were attempting to play Marco Polo, and Nick was clearly winning. I heard him laugh as he swam in the opposite direction that Joe was searching.

“Marco!” Joe yelled out.

He must not have great hearing, because Kaycee was swimming right behind him, mimicking his movements. That was the safest way to play…unless the seeker wasn’t deaf! Joe suddenly stopped and spun around, causing Kaycee to gasp.

“Polo!?” She squeaked, smiling.

“Hah! Got you! You thought I couldn’t hear you swimming behind me, but you were wrong!” Joe exclaimed, opening his eyes. He wrapped his arms around Kaycee and spun her in the water.

Nick was keeping afloat not far from the edge of the pool, facing away from me, and I took this as an advantage as I slowly raised myself from the beach chair and crept to the edge of the pool.

Joe and Kaycee were watching what I was about to do, and just as I leaped, Nick looked over his shoulder.

I splashed into the luke-warm water, resurfacing just a few seconds later to see Nick shaking his soaking wet curls out of his face.

“And I got you!” I laughed, swimming over to him.

“Not cool.” He said, being sarcastic of course. He raised his arm up and sent a huge splash right in my face. I barely had time to recover air from the water when I felt Nick’s lips on mine. I wrapped my hands around his neck, moving my right hand thru his hair as his lips worked to part mine.

“Woah! Hey!” Joe scolded from where he was still floating with Kaycee.
“Cut the watersports. It’s much more fun to play Marco Polo, cause you know, that’s a five person game.”

I laughed into Nick’s mouth, but we kept on kissing. I felt his hands glide over my back in the warm water, and I tugged on his short locks again.

“Nicholas Jerr…” Joe began, but Nick cut him off, well us actually. He broke the kiss apart to send Joe a death glare.

“Don’t call me that!” He shouted, splashing Joe.

“Oh, you wanna have a water war? Two can play at that game, bro!” Joe said, letting go of Kaycee and swimming closer to his younger brother.

So Joe thinks of kissing as a game, huh? Very interesting.

“No. I don’t, actually.” Nick said, pulling himself up onto the edge of the pool. He was resting on his stomach, and as soon as Joe stopped, Nick started kicking his feet, sending cascades of water right into Joe’s face.

Before Joe could retaliate, Nick pulled himself up the rest of the way, turned around and then bent down; face to face with Joe.

“Guess what, Joe?…Now I got you.” Nick laughed, then pulled himself away from the edge as quickly as possible, before Joe could pull him in.

Joe splashed the water in frustration, and Kevin and I couldn’t help but laugh.

Kaycee and I followed Nick’s lead and jumped out of the pool, going over to dry off. I picked up my phone as I sat down next to Nick on his beach chair. It read three-thirty.

“Ooh, Kaycee, we should probably go if we want to get ready for the dance.” I said to her as she walked past.

“Alright. I need to take a shower anyway. I smell like chlorine.” She said, picking up her towel.

“Same here, sister.” I stood up and put my phone into my beach bag.

“Hey! Hey! Two parts Disney, where are you going?” Joe exclaimed from the pool, swimming quickly to the ladder.

“It’s three-thirty. We gotta go get ready for the dance.” I replied.

“2 ½ hours to get ready? Man, and I thought I took long!” Joe exclaimed, picking up his towel.

“You do!” Kevin and Nick shouted together, causing me and Kaycee to giggle more.

“Well, we’ll see you at the dance.” I said, giving Nick as kiss on the check. “Hey Joe, what was that you said about watersports?” I asked Joe as I turned around to see him and Kaycee in a full on lip-lock.

“Wha? Oh, uhm, nothing.” He broke apart the kiss to answer my question, then gave Kaycee a soft smooch on the lips.

“See you later, Joe.” Kaycee said. She gave him a hug and then we started making our way to our cabin.

As soon as we were in the door, we dashed for our suitcases. I flung mine open and started tossing things out. What in the world was I going to wear!?!

“Have you found anything yet?” I asked Kaycee, turning around to see her tossing clothing items over her shoulders.

“No! Should we just wear the dresses we wore to the dinner in the Bahamas?” Kaycee asked frantically.

“Fashion alert!!” Did she seriously just say what I thought she said? “Girls never wear the same thing twice when going out with a guy!”

“Rich girls don’t. Poor girls do. I’m not saying I’m poor, because I am pretty wealthy, and I know you are too…but I mean, where did all the nice outfits I packed go?!” Kaycee shrieked.

I kept digging in my suitcase until I finally found something that was somewhat decent for a cruise-dance at last minute - a turquoise Hollister tank, and a white flowing skirt.

“Perfect!” I gasped, holding the tank and skirt together.

“That looks cute and fashionable. What do you think of this?” Kaycee commented. She held up her own outfit - a sky blue summer dress.

“Oh, now that’s cute!” I said, laying my outfit on my bed.

“Thanks. Alright, I’m hitting the shower, so you can get whatever else you need for you outfit while I’m in there. Then we’ll switch; and then we can do our hair and make-up.” Kaycee said.

“Sounds like a plan.” I smiled, unzipping my other suitcase.

I dug through it until I found my jewelry bag, and I started going through some of the many necklace and earrings sets I had brought with me.

I settled on a simple, 18 karat diamond necklace. The pendant was a star, with a smaller star in the center. My father had given it to me for my 16th birthday. I continued searching through the pouch until I pulled out my disco drop Sterling Silver earrings. I placed them and the necklace back in their velvet boxes and then set the boxes on my outfit.

By the time I was finished picking out my outfit and completely reorganizing and packing my bags, Kaycee was finished with her shower.

“Your turn!” She said, smiling.

“Okay.” I said. I gave her a smile before I headed in to take a shower myself. The warm water felt relaxing to my body. My shoulders stung a little and I realized I must’ve gotten burnt while we had been swimming.

When I finally got out of the shower, I wrapped my hair up in a towel to keep it damp, but not dripping. I put on my undergarments and then slipped into the night’s outfit.

Kaycee was already in her dress, and I noticed she had two silver chains around her neck. One had a starfish pendant and the other was an anchor.

“Kaycee, did you like pack all your jewelry that was ‘in theme’ for a cruise?” I asked, putting air quotes around ‘in theme’. Even her earrings were ‘cruise themed’ - captain’s steering wheel.

Do they call it a steering wheel? Well, I wasn’t sure, but that’s besides the point.

“Hmm I guess I did.” She giggled, looking down at the chains around her neck.

“They’re pretty either way.” I said. I headed back into the bathroom where I blow-dried my hair and then curled bits and pieces of it to make it look slightly wavy. My medium-length brown hair now framed my face nicely.

Kaycee was sculpting her hair into a bun, leaving a few strands hanging down. I curled them and they sat nicely against the side of her head.

After we had each put on a light amount of make-up, we looked at ourselves in the mirror.

“Ready?” I asked, brushing some lip gloss on my lips.

“Ready!” Kaycee replied.

Even though we weren’t wearing a couple-thousand-dollar dresses, I felt like a celebrity walking down the red carpet as we made our way towards the same venue where the boys had had their cruise concert.

I spotted the boys waiting outside for us, and once again they looked charming in their tuxes.

“You look gorgeous.” Nick said to me as I approached him.

“Thanks. I feel like I’m going to a red-carpet event or something.” I blushed, looking down at my feet.

“You haven’t experienced a red-carpet event until…well, until you’re on the red-carpet!” Kevin explained. I giggled as I placed my hand through Nick’s arm and we headed inside.

The interior of the venue had been decorated with blue sheets on the walls, making it look like waves. Ship anchors, ‘steering wheels’, and other ship accessories adorned the walls. Nets hung from the ceiling, and had starfish, crabs, sharks and other sea creatures in them as well.

“Kaycee!” I called to her as she, Joe and Kevin made their way to a table. She turned to look at me. “You fit right in!” I pointed around, and she started glancing at all the decorations.

We followed them to the table and took a seat.

“Hey, look!” Joe exclaimed, pointing his finger in the direction behind us. There was a long table covered with a sky blue cloth, and several pots and dishes were sitting atop it. “Buffet!”

With that, Joe scrambled up from the table, grabbed Kaycee’s hand and they headed for the buffet table.

“No time to eat?” I asked the boys., still looking over my shoulder and watching Kaycee and Joe.

“Nope.” They replied in unison.

“So, we’re here to dance, let’s dance.” I said, standing up. I put my hand out and Nick grabbed it. He gave me a twirl before we headed over to the dance floor.

We started swaying in tune to the music when it suddenly changed to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. Nick smiled and twirled me again as we changed steps to go in tune with the music.

I looked up towards the DJ table and saw Kevin waving to me.

How does he do that? I asked myself as I grinned sheepishly.

“What?” Nick asked.

“What do you mean ‘what’?” I asked, getting confused.

“You said ‘How does he do that?’” Nick said.

Oh snap. I said that out loud. Why couldn’t my conscience just know when to keep quiet!?

“Your brother asked the DJ to play this song.” I said, smiling lightly as we continued to sway to the music.

“That’s Kevin for ya. Romantic.” Nick replied, turning his head to the side and twirling me again.

I placed my hands on his shoulders, still moving with the music.

When the song ended, everyone started clapping. The DJ then put on a better dancing song - “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard.
I started snaking my arms and then twirled myself around, coming face to face with Nick as I grabbed the collar of his jacket with my right hand.

“Wow.” He said, breathing rapidly.

“Never thought I could dance, huh?” I asked him, still dancing to the music.

“Uhm, no.” He replied, putting his hand on the back of his neck and rubbing it up and down.

“I guess there’s more to me that you don’t know, huh Jonas?” I said, laughing. He caught my hands and we moved into a fast paced dance across the floor. I caught sight of Kaycee and Joe rockin’ out to the song over near our table and Kevin was rockin’ with them.

As the song came to an end, Nick moved his hands from my waist, placing his left in my right, and placing his right hand on my back, dipping me down.

“Thanks for the dance.” He whispered in my ear as he pulled me back up.

“Your welcome.” I whispered back.

“Alright, this is for all the couples in the house tonight!” The DJ’s voice rang throughout the venue. I watched as several moms and dads came out onto the dance floor, and some teenagers who had brought their boyfriends along too, as the song “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond came out of the speakers.

“We sing this on our tour.” Nick said, putting his hands on my waist as we twirled in tune to the music.

“Really?” I asked, clasping my hands together around his neck.

“Yup.” He said.

Where it began.
I can’t begin to knowin’
But then I know it’s growing strong.
Was in the spring
Then spring became the summer
Who’da believe you’d come along?
Hands, touchin’ hands

Nick took my hands from around his neck and placed them in his. I smiled as he hummed, dancing along with the music.

Reachin’ out, touchin’ me, touchin’ you.

I took one of my hands and touched his cheek, running down along his jawline.

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I’ve been inclined
To believe they never would
But now I

Nick sang along with the chorus, making me smile as I laid my head against his chest.

Look at the night
And it don’t seem so lonely
We fill up with only two.
And when I hurt
Hurtin’ runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when holdin’ you?
Warm touchin’ warm
Reachin’ out, touchin’ me, touchin’ you.

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I’ve been inclined
To believe they never would
Oh
No
No
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good

Sweet Caroline
I believe they never could

“Sweet Alison. Good times never seemed so good.” Nick sang along as the song faded, and I couldn’t help but blush as he changed the lyrics.

“I’m going to miss you.” I whispered in his ear, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck.

“Me too, Ali. But we’ll only be apart for a few weeks. And then we’ll be leaving on the tour.” Nick said reassuringly.

The sky was clear and star-filled when the ship docked later that night. I saw my mom in the lamplight, waiting on the pier below me as I wheeled my luggage down the ramp.

“Ali!” She screamed my name, running over to me and giving me a huge hug.

“Hi, Mom!” I said, hugging her back.

“Did you have fun?” She asked, taking one of my suitcases.

“That’s an understatement.” I said, giggling as I hugged her again.

“I’m glad you had a good time.”

“Me too. Oh! There’s someone I want you to meet…Two people, actually.” I said. We quickly put my things in the car before returning to the pier. I saw Kaycee with her parents and decided I’d introduce my mom to her first.

“Mom, this is Kaycee. Kaycee, this is my mom.” I said once we had reached Kaycee.

“Hi, Kaycee!” My mom said. She gave her a hug, while Kaycee’s parents introduced themselves to me.

“We’ll have to stay in touch.” I said to Kaycee. “But I don’t think that’s going to be too hard.” I giggled.

“I don’t think so.” Kaycee agreed, laughing. “I’ve got to now, but we should hang out as soon as possible!”

“Bye.” I said, giving her a hug.

“She seems very nice.” My mom said as I led her in the direction of the ramp. I saw Nick and his family surrounded by some police officers and Big Rob.

“Come on, Mom.” I grabbed her wrist again.

Gosh! I should just get a leash for this woman! At least then I wouldn’t have to grab her wrist every time I wanted to show her something! I could just tug on the leash.

As we approached the group, I was worried that the officers wouldn’t let me through to Nick. Luckily, Big Rob saw me and motioned for me to come over.
Nick pushed through the crowd and met me by Big Rob.

“Mom, this is Nick…Jonas. Also known as, my boyfriend.” I said. My mom gasped and then hugged Nick, who hugged her back.

“It’s nice to meet you Mrs. Parker.” Nick said after giving my mom a hug.

“So…you two…are…Really?!” Sometimes my mom could get a little too tweeny.

“Yep.” I was surprised she hadn’t heard it on the news, but then again, she probably hadn’t done much TV watching while I had been gone.

At that moment Mama and Papa Jonas came over to my mom and they started engrossing in conversation.

“Remember our plan?” Nick asked me after he had pulled me a few feet away.

“Of course I do. Do you think your mom will actually let me and Kaycee come on tour with you guys?” I asked hopefully.

“No doubt about it.” Nick replied. He pulled me close and we hugged. “I love you, Ali Parker.” He breathed before pressing his lips into mine. I kissed him back, and then we broke apart.

“I love you, Nick Jonas.” I replied.

Chapter Ten

~.Alison’s POV.~

I spent the rest of the day hanging out with Nick on the ship. Since our secret was out about us, it didn’t really matter to keep hidden from the other people on the cruise. Of course, we still had Big Rob with us, just for protection.
I didn’t get back to the ship that night until 8:30. Kaycee was already asleep, so I went about packing my things in a quiet manner; trying not to disturb her.

I left an outfit out for in the morning, along with my make-up, but made sure that everything else was secure in my suitcases.

By the time I laid down in bed at 9:15, my eyelids were barely managing to stay open.

I was awoken the following morning by Kaycee. She was zipping around the room, hurriedly packing her things.

“I see you’re feeling better.” I said, sitting up a tad and rubbing my eyes.

“Yes indeed!” She replied.

I listened to her rummage around in the bathroom while I laid in bed for a moment longer. I decided I had better get up now, after all, I wasn’t going to be able to fall back asleep.

“So did Joe ever come and visit you?” I asked, slipping my feet into my slippers and grabbing my pile of clothes from the top of my suitcase.

“Yeah, actually. He brought me some tea. It was really good. We hung out and watched movies.” Kaycee said, coming out of the bathroom and smiling.

“I’m sure you gave him your lovely bug, no doubt?” I replied.

“No. It was just food poisoning. He’ll be fine.” Kaycee said, then she paused. “Unless he ate the same thing as I did.”

I gave her a sarcastic grin before going into the bathroom to get ready for the day. Since I had already packed the night before, I just tossed my pajamas and bathroom accessories into my least-packed suitcase and zipped it up. I set both of my bags by the door.

“Shall we go get some breakfast?” I asked Kaycee. I pulled out my phone and quickly punched in a message to Nick.

Ali-P: Mornin’! We’re going out for breakfast. Care to join us?

“Okay, let’s go!” I said, closing my phone.

“Aren’t you going to wait for him to text you back?” Kaycee asked, pointing at my phone.

“They can meet up with us. Besides, we have to figure out where we want to eat, first.” I explained to Kaycee. She nodded and then we headed out the door.

As we walked down the deck in search of a place to eat, it dawned on me how much I was going to miss this cruise. Especially since this was the place where Nick and I had met. To think that if I hadn’t come on the cruise, I wouldn’t be dating a Jonas Brother; well, that would just be insane. It really was the best start to the summer, and I wouldn’t replace it for the world.

Kaycee’s voice interrupted my peaceful thoughts.

“Alison? Are you awake in there?” She asked, tapping my shoulder.

“What? Ugh, yeah, sorry.” I replied. I glanced down at my phone and saw that I had one new text message.

Nick-J: Of course. Where are you eating?

“Quick, Kaycee! Where are we eating?” I asked hurriedly, punching buttons on my phone to reply to Nick.

“Uhm…how about that place? Err, no. Oh! What about that place? Yes! Definitely that place!” Kaycee’s mind was definitely going with it’s own drum beat today.

“What’s it called?” I asked her, motioning for a faster reply.

“Uhh, Horizons on the Sun…Ooh sounds fancy!” Kaycee said.

I gave her a giddy smile and I texted Nick with the name.

Ali-P: Meet us at Horizons on the Sun.

We started making our way over to the restaurant when Nick replied.

Nick-J: Ooh, sounds fancy! See ya there!

I guess Nick and Kaycee’s minds are actually beating the same today, which is rare. I laughed as I read Nick’s text.

By the time our drinks had arrived, the boys were just getting there.

“What took you so long?” I asked Nick as he took a seat next to me.

“We were waiting for Joe.” He replied, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

“Yeah, Ali. You know how he takes forever. He had to make sure his hair was ok.” Kevin said. He reached over and ruffled Joe’s perfectly brushed hair.

“Hey! It took me ten minutes to get that perfect!” Joe scolded. We all erupted into laughter.

The waiteress came by again and we all gave her our orders. The waitress was young; I would guess around Kevin’s age, and I could tell she had a thing for him just by the way she was acting, and apparently someone else noticed too.

“Woah, Kev. That waitress was totally digging you.” Nick said once the waitress had disappeared from earshot.

“Really?” Kevin asked. He must have been blind to not notice it, but then again he did have thousands of girls drooling over him, so maybe it just wasn’t so obvious anymore.

“He’s right, Kev. She totally was.” Joe chimed in, giving a nod towards his older brother.

“She must not know I’m engaged.” Kevin smirked. I stifled back a giggle.

“I can’t believe this is our last day on the ship.” Kaycee said, changing the subject.

“I know. This was definitely the best start to my summer vacation. What am I going to do without you?” I said, turning to Nick as the last few words slipped from my mouth.

For a minute he didn’t reply, and the look on his face seemed to be telling me the one thing girls never want to hear from their boyfriends: It’s over. But then he grinned.

“I’ll call you whenever I can. Or text,” He touched his finger to my nose, “And I’m sure we’ll be able to fly out to you guys, or you could fly out to us. We’ll figure something out.”

“Uhm Mr. President?” Joe said, looking like he had the most brilliant idea ever.

“What, Joe?” Nick asked.

“Dude! They can go on tour with us!” Joe practically shouted. I moved my hand in a “quiet down!” manner, and looked over my shoulder. Thankfully no one was staring. Phewww.

“Brilliant!” Nick said, clapping his hands together like he always did.

“There’s just one problem.” I interrupted the best idea that Joe had probably come up with in the past two weeks. The boys shot me their “What?” faces. “I have to go back to school in September.”

“I’m sure we can get our tutor to…tutor you with us on the road.” Joe prompted after a few moments of mulling over my question.

“Another brilliant idea from the mouth of the brother I like to call DJ Danger!” Kevin said, making us all laugh.

“So it’s settled then? You guys will come with us on our tour - if our parents say yes; and Ali you’ll get tutored with Nick on the road.” Joe exclaimed.

“Yep! Sounds great to me!” I exclaimed, high-fiving Joe’s outstretched palm.

I guess I hadn’t been paying attention to what Nick had ordered, because when our food finally arrived, I was secretly wishing I had ordered what was now sitting in front of him.

“That looks delicious.” I said after the waitress had left. I looked down at my own plate; yup, it definitely did not compare in deliciousness to Nick’s dish.

“Here.” Nick said. He took his fork and cut a piece of his…whatever it was, and put it in my mouth.

“Wow. Yum! What is that, anyway?” I asked him, beginning to dig into my own breakfast.

“Uhm, it’s some type of omelet. There’s ham, bacon, cheese, broccoli…” Nick said, naming off the things as he looked inside of his omelet.

Broccoli?!” Joe interrupted, almost spitting out the scrambled eggs he had just taken a bite of. “Who puts broccoli in an omelet?”

“It’s just like steamed veggies, Joe.” Nick said, twirling his broccoli-stabbed fork.

“Ehh.” Joe twitched, focusing his eyes back to his own meal.

“Hey guys! Did you hear about this?” Kaycee suddenly asked, looking up from…you guessed it, the Disney Cruise-letter.

“Well, let me think. You’re the only one who reads the Disney letter, so I’m thinking we haven’t heard about ‘this’.” Kevin said, putting air quotes around ‘this’.

Kaycee gave Kevin a glare, making him dive hungrily back into his breakfast. “Anyway, the ship doesn’t dock in L.A. until 9 pm tonight. At 6, there’s a dance, for everyone on board!”

“A dance? Why didn’t we hear about this sooner?” Joe exclaimed, this time almost spitting out his orange juice.

“You’d think we would of heard by word of mouth. But then again, nobody tells us anything.” Kevin sighed, leaning back in his chair and throwing his arms up.

“Dude, don’t be so dramatic. We can still go.” Nick rolled his eyes as his brothers.

“Great! Let’s go, then! All of us. As a group!” Joe said. He held up his glass for a toast, which we all had to join in on or he would pitch a fit.

“To…Disney!” We all said in an awkward unison.

Chapter Nine

~.Alison’s POV.~

When we reached the Jonas’ suite, Joe unlocked the door and let us in. I had been surprised by the suite in the hotel, but the suite on the ship? Now that was a whole different story. The door opened up to a main hall, and to the right was a little kitchen, and bathroom. Straight ahead there was a living room, and off that, two bedrooms, each with 2 beds.

“Mom and Dad must be in their room.” Joe said as he tossed the keys onto the coffee table in the living room.

“Nick, Frankie and Kevin sleep in there.” Joe pointed to one the room with it’s door opened, “And me, my mom, and dad sleep in here.”

He walked towards the other door and knocked.

“Come in!” A voice from inside said. I recognized it as Mama Jonas’. I couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. I was meeting my boyfriend’s parents.

Joe opened the door, held up a finger to us, and then slipped inside. I guessed he would bring them out into the living room, where there was more room. Plus, it would be awkward going into their bedroom.

Nick and I sat down on the couch, and Kaycee sat down next to me while Kevin grabbed a recliner. A few moments later Joe came back out of his parents room with them and Frankie in tow.

“Hi! You must be Alison.” Mama Jonas came over to me and gave me a hug.
“Yep, that’s me.” I said, giving her a smile.

“I’ve her so much about you.” She squeezed my shoulders, and I looked down at Nick who was blushing.

Papa Jonas came over to me next and shook my hand. “Very nice to finally meet you, Alison.”

“Nice meet you too, Mr. Jonas.” I said, sitting back down next to Nick.

“Please, call me Paul.” He said.

Mrs. Jonas -err, Denise- was giving Kaycee a hug before she sat down next to Kevin.

Frankie gave me a small smile as he skipped across the floor to go and sit on his mom’s lap.

“So you’re the girls that the boys have been spending all their time with, and who they just can’t keep talking about!” Denise said excitedly. I gave a faint smile, getting embarrassed for myself, and for Nick, who was bright red right about now.

Joe must’ve noticed, because he started giggling. Kaycee slapped his leg playfully, but it didn’t stop him.

And this was why I hated meeting parents. It was always so awkward, and whomever was the kid of the parent always got humiliated. Poor Nick.

I gave Nick a nudge with my elbow, and he looked up at me. I winked at him.

“Ali’s my girlfriend.” He said nonchalantly, giving a small smile.

“That’s great, honey!” Denise exclaimed. Paul said congratulations and gave Nick a pat on the knee.

I guessed that Joe had already told his parents that him and Kaycee were a ‘thing’, because he didn’t mention it after Nick spilled our news.

We continued to chat with the Mama and Papa Jonas for a while longer and then we decided we should probably get back to our own cabin and go to sleep.

Nick and Joe walked with us outside, where we could say our goodbyes privately…well somewhat; it didn’t matter to Nick or Joe that they kissed their girlfriend’s in front of one another.

“So, how long do you think it will take for a picture of us kissing to hit the internet?” I questioned Nick after he’d pulled his lips apart from mine.

“I dunno.” He said, his lips just inches away from mine. I took the lead this time and gave him a soft kiss on the lips, while wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling my fingers through his curls.

“What’s on the agenda for tomorrow?” I asked him.

“Disney wants us to do an interview with them before the cruise is over. They want to ask us about our time on the cruise. Maybe I can sneak you into the studio.” He whispered, hugging me close.

“They have a studio on the ship?” I asked in surprise. Really, I shouldn’t have been surprised. It was a Disney Cruise. With Disney Channel stars. Of course there was bound to be a studio on board for interviews. And who knows, maybe there happened to be a recording studio nearby too.

“Yep. It’s down below on another deck, so the fans don’t really know about it. Anyway, we’re supposed to be there at 10 am. I’m sure some fans won studio passes, so if I can get one, I’ll give it too you.” He winked at me.

I squeezed him tight one last time before breaking apart and joining Kaycee who was waiting for me.

We started off towards our cabin, and when I glanced over my shoulder I could see that Nick was watching us walk off. He caught my glance and blew me a kiss. I pretended to catch it, and put it in my pocket.

The following morning I was up by 8:30 am. I usually didn’t get up this early, so I was really tired. I decided to take a shower to see if it woke me up, and it did, thankfully.

I pulled on a dark navy tank top, and a pair of jean Bermuda shorts. I went out into the main room to grab some ankle socks and my converse, careful not to wake Kaycee. She had decided not to go with me this morning because she had woken up during the middle of the night with an upset stomach. I had told her I would have Joe come by after the interview to check up on her.

As soon as my shoes were tied, I grabbed my sunglasses and was out the door.

Nick had managed to get me a pass to his studio interview that morning, but I couldn’t get it until I got there, which was going to be quite difficult considering that tons of girls would be there with their cameras, and Nick would have to come out and give me the ticket in person. Oh yes, this wasn’t going to be pretty.

I followed the directions Nick had given me and finally reached the studio. It was on one of the lower level decks, about 3 flights of stairs down from the main deck; and it was quite easy to find, despite Nick saying hardly anyone knew about it. If you were to just come walking down here, you’d find it. Mainly on this deck there were offices and rooms for the staff, so if you could get past staff, it’d be easy to get to the studio.

The studio was a relatively good size, well as much as I could see from the windows in the hallway, anyway. I figured there must be a room for the stars to get ready for their interview, because I didn’t see the boys in the studio.

There were only about 20 girls standing outside the studio doors, plus me of course. I managed to push my way through them so that I was standing to the left of the studio. I saw a door that read Disney Stars Only! and I guessed that that was the door leading to the backroom.

I looked in the studio thru the windows and saw the radio host coming to unlock the door to let the fans in. As soon as he unlocked it, I heard the backroom door creak open, and a “pssst!”

I turned around to see Nick standing there, waving frantically for me to come inside. I dashed for the door as quick as possible, hearing some girls screaming as I realized they had seen Nick.

I heard the door shut behind me and turned around.

“Did they see you?” I asked him.

“Yeah. They were coming at the door, but I shut it just in time.” He said, coming over to me and wrapping his arms around my shoulder.

“So much for the pass. Sneaking me in worked out fine, huh?” I said, laughing.

“Well, you’re gonna come into the main room when we do the interview. So you have to have the pass for that…” Nick explained as he led me to the backroom.

Joe and Kevin were sitting in chairs, getting their hair fixed.

“Hi, Alison.” Joe said when I walked past him. “Where’s Kaycee?”

“She woke up in the middle of the night sick to her stomach. I told her you’d come by after the interview though, if you don’t mind.” I said, sitting on the couch that Nick had led me too.

“Ah. Yeah I’ll stop by and see how she’s doing.” Joe said, picking up his cell phone. I knew he was going to send her a text and ask her how she was.

Suddenly the door to the studio burst open and a guy said “You’re on.”
Joe and Kevin jumped up from their chairs and headed for the door.

“Nick, where’s the pass?” I asked him as he started to get up. I pulled on his hand that had been intertwined with mine, and he fell back on the couch.

“Right here.” He said, handing it too me. As I read it, a sly smile formed on his lips. The pass said Jonas Brothers Disney Interview: V.I.P.

“What does this mean?” I asked him, a smile forming on my own face.

“It means you get to stand with my mom, Dad and Frankie while we get interviewed.” He said, pulling me up from the couch.

We headed out into the studio, and I could see that the fans were standing against a half-wall partition to the left of the studio, while there was a solid half-wall with glass from waist height to the top of my head. There was also door in it that separated back stage from the actual studio. I was still able to hear everything the boys said, due to the wall not meeting the roof; another good thing was that I couldn‘t see the fans, either, because their viewing area was pushed farther back, and they also had a solid wall that went out a ways, finally meeting up with the glass. The boys went through the door and I stood against the wall, next to Frankie and Mama Jonas.

When the boys took their seats, they were facing the corner where the two walls met.

“Good morning everyone! Your listening to Disney Cruise Radio! I’m Kyle Brescia. Today we have very special guests, The Jonas Brothers!” Kyle, the radio-host spoke into a microphone. As soon as he said “The Jonas Brothers” the fans in the audience erupted in screams and cheers.

Nick was sitting the closest to me, then Joe and then Kevin.

“Nick, Kevin, Joe, how are you this morning?” Kyle asked. He had one of those perfect speaking voices, which was probably the reason why he was the radio-host.

“Great.” The boys said in unison, all giving big smiles; Nick gave his secluded, closed-lip smile.

“Have you been enjoying your time on the Cruise?” Kyle asked.

“Yeah. I mean, we’re having a blast. It’s definitely a new experience for us.” Joe commented.

“Yeah, we’ve never performed before on a ship!” Kevin exclaimed.

“What about the Bahamas? Now, you guys didn’t do any performances while you were there, did you?” Kyle asked.

“No.” Nick spoke up. “We’ve been to the Bahamas before, and we have done performances. But this time we just went to hang out and have fun. We golfed and hit up the water park at our hotel.”

“I was surfing the gossip sites like I always do, and found pictures of you guys at the water park. Nick and Joe, you each had a girl with you. Can you tell us more about them?” Kyle asked.

“They’re great girls. Fans actually.” Joe exclaimed. At this the fans in the audience booed a little bit.

“Are they your girlfriends?”

“Like Joe said, they’re great girls. Anybody would be lucky to date them.” Nick replied. He turned towards me and gave me a wink. I smiled in return, just as Kyle turned his head to see who Nick had been winking at.

“Come on. You guys are adults. We need a confirmation. The water park wasn’t the only time you were spotted with the girls. Apparently you’ve been spotted many times, dining on the ship together.” Kyle pushed on. I wondered what the boys’ response to this would be.

Nick turned to look at Joe and then gave a sigh and a shrug. What was he going to do?

I watched as Joe gave a solemn nod towards Nick, and then they both turned back to the mics.

“Yes.” Nick said, pausing. “They are our girlfriends.”

The studio audience gasped and I could hear them whispering and discussing things.

Kyle continued on with asking the boys questions, finally moving away from the relationship subject and on to the World Tour.

After another 30 minutes, the boys were finished with their interview and we all headed into the back room.

“That was a great interview!” I said to them when the door had finally shut behind us.

“Great? The first part was so awkward!” Joe piped up, taking a seat on the couch.

“I still think you guys did good.” I said, smiling. I gave Nick a hug and he smiled back at me.

Chapter Eight

~.Alison’s POV.~

The past few days had gone by so quickly, and I was dreading the return back to L.A. in just two more days.

Kaycee and I had spent most of the days after the Bahamas, hanging out with the boys on the ship.

Surprisingly we were able to actually do the fun things that were on the ship without being jumped by fans. The boys were definitely thankful for that, and so were me and Kaycee. We got to hang more with Kevin, too, because he had to leave Danielle back in the Bahamas.

Tonight the boys had invited us to dinner, once again. So at that very moment Kaycee and I were in our room, jamming out to some music and getting ready for the evening.

We each had picked a casual outfit, not wanting to get too fancy; afterall, it’s not like they have super fancy restaurants on a Disney Cruise.

I slipped on a white Beatles tee, and a pair of jean shorts. Kaycee was rocking a loose blue tee over a white tank, with some white jean shorts.

“Are you ready to go?” I asked Kaycee from the bathroom, where I was applying a bit of make-up and fluffing up my hair.

“Yep!” She called from the main room. She came into the bathroom, carring her purse. “Let’s go, chica!”

I squealed, ruffled my hair once more, and then we dashed out of the room.

We met up with Kevin, Joe and Nick at one of the fair-sized diners on the boat. We sank down into our seats and waited for the waiter to bring us menus.

“So where is your first back-to-tour concert at?” I asked Nick, taking a sip from my lemonade.

“It’s in Portland, Oregon.” He said. “We’re going to stop along the way. Go sightseeing. Go to the beach.”

“Sounds fun.” I said, giving him a smile which he returned.

“Hey, did you know the beach makes my hair curly?” Joe asked randomly.

“Yeah! It’s the salt-water. It just does something to his hair.” Kevin said, playing with Joe’s hair. Kaycee and I started laughing hysterically, even though Mr. President only gave a smirk, taking a drink of his Diet Dr. Pepper.

I could feel the eyes of the other passengers on us as we chatted away, and ordered. I kept up a good conversation with the boys though, keeping my mind away from the fans. Of course I knew they were taking pictures of us, and speculating if we were a couple, which we weren’t. Just friends.

“Are you a Beatles fan?” Joe asked as we waited for our dinner to arrive.

“Yep.” I said, glancing down at my shirt.

“Us too!” Joe exclaimed.

“I know, Joe, haha.” I laughed. The look on his face turned from excitement to surprise.

“You do?” He asked.

“Yeah. I read magazines and go on the internet ya know.” I said, giggling. Nick giggled along with me this time.

Score! I finally made him laugh for the first time tonight. Lately he’s seemed kind of nervous. I wonder what’s on his mind?

“Right.” Joe said, nodding. I was sure he was trying to remember when he had said that the Beatles were an influence on their music, because his eyebrows were twisting, and moving up and down in a thinking motion.

Kaycee giggled and slapped him lightly on the shoulder, bringing him out of his daze.

“Ahhh! Food’s here!” He said, the excitement returning to his voice. He stretched his arms up and casually brought his left arm down and placed it around Kaycee’s shoulders. She leaned against him, even though the waiter really had arrived with our food.

As we ate, it dawned on me that we still hadn’t met Papa or Mama Jonas, even though Nick said we would when we were in the Bahamas. We hadn’t though, because they had ended up going off to do things on their own, and then when it was time to go back on the ship, they had flown from the Bahamas back to their Dallas, Texas home with Frankie. Supposedly they were getting back tonight, though…By helicopter, of course.

“You know, Nick, we never got to meet your parents like you said.” I said after I had swallowed the chicken I was eating.

“Yeah, we’d love to meet them.” Kaycee said, looking up at Joe.

“How about you guys come back to our room with us tonight? You can meet them then.” Kevin suggested.

“Sounds good.” I agreed. I looked up at Nick, but he seemed to be in a fixed state, sending a death glare straight at his older brother.

I looked at Kevin, who seemed to return an answer to Nick telepathically, and then I shrugged at Kaycee. The Jonai were very strange boys, yes indeed. But lovable, still.

~.Nick’s POV.~

I couldn’t believe Kevin had just done that! I sent him a death glare, telling him he had just ruined my plan, and he shot me a sympathetic look, making up for an apology.

Now how was I suppose to spring the question at Ali? In front of my parents? In our cabin, where the walls were as thin as cardboard? I think not!

I racked my brain for some plausible explanation as to why I might need to leave early, taking Ali with me. Then I could ask her. All I wanted was to be in private, which included being away from my brothers. Of course I couldn’t possibly think of anything to come up with, since Kevin had upset me.

When I had told them my plan earlier that evening while I was getting ready, they suggested I ask her at the diner. I immediately shot that down - why would I ask her that question in front of a dozen fan-girls? Did my brothers not know how crazy that would be?

I glanced at Ali and she smiled at me in between bites of her food. I smiled back before remembering that we were eating, so I shoved a forkful of rice into my mouth and began thinking again.

The only thing I could come up with was straying behind my brothers as we walked back to the cabin. Yes, that’s what I would do. I pulled my phone out of my jeans pocket, hiding it under the table, and sent them a text message:

Nick-J: When we leave the diner, you two goons walk ahead of me. I’m gonna ask Ali. Joe, make sure Kaycee stays with you…

I heard Joe’s phone vibrate a second later, and the look on his face was priceless.

That’s what he gets for keeping his phone there. I thought to myself, laughing at his expression.

A few seconds later they both had replied:

K2: Got it Nick. (:
Danger: No problem little bro. :P

I smiled as I read the texts. I was interrupted by Ali elbowing my side.

“Nick. Nick?” She asked. “Are you finished?”

I looked at my plate. I had eaten all of my steak, and a few bites of rice. Honestly, I was surprised I’d managed to eat as much as I had, considering how nervous I was.

“Yeah.” I replied, shoving my plate to edge of the table. Ali got up first, followed by me, and then Kevin schooched out from his place at the end of the U-shaped table.

I nodded towards Kevin and Joe, and they started walking ahead of us. As we exited the diner, some fans waved at us, and I waved back with my free hand (I was holding Ali‘s hand in my right).

So far, so good. I thought as Kevin and Joe took the lead. It was surprisingly dark on the ship deck tonight as we walked past portholes of cabins. It felt like a Titanic moment.

I slowed down my pace a little, waiting until Kevin, Joe, and Kaycee were almost out of earshot before I stopped completely. My abrupt stop shocked Ali, and she got jerked backwards.

“Why’d we stop, Nick?” She asked, looking at me with her gorgeous blue eyes.

I just wanted to kiss her already, but first I had to ask the question. The question that had been burning me on the inside since the first day I’d laid eyes on her.

“Ali, I have to ask you something.” I said, my voice a little shaky. Okay, my body was shaking, not my voice. I tried to remember if I had checked my blood sugar before eating, but that didn’t matter right now. First I needed to ask Ali my question.

“What is it, Nick?” She asked, eyeing me. She had her back to the wall, and I took my chance, slowly pushing her backwards, and finally up against it. Both of my hands were intertwined with hers. I could sense that my brothers had stopped walking, although they were farther along the deck, and standing where I couldn’t see them. But I was certain they could see me and Ali, since we were standing directly under a light.

“Will you…be my girlfriend?” I asked, thankful my voice hadn’t cracked.

~.Alison’s POV.~

I couldn’t believe my ears. Had Nick Jonas seriously just asked me to be his girlfriend? OMG! He did! What I was I doing? I needed to reply already.

“Of course…I mean, yes. Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend!” I exclaimed, a smile forming on my face.

Nick smiled big too, showing his teeth. And then he pushed me against the wall tighter, placing his lips on mine.

I couldn’t breathe as he continued to kiss me, forcing his tongue into my mouth. It felt amazing to finally kiss him, and I could sense he felt the same way too. Finally, after what felt like forever, we broke apart, and I gave him the biggest hug ever.

Nick put his arm around my waist as we started walking again, catching up to his brothers and Kaycee, who had been waiting just a few yards away in the complete darkness on the deck.

“Congrats little bro.” Kevin half-whispered to Nick as he fell into step along side us. Joe gave Nick a pat on the back and Kaycee shot me a double thumbs up. I gave her a huge smile in return.

Chapter Seven

The following morning Kaycee and I just hung out on the ship. We tanned until noon, when I got a text from Nick.

Nick-J: Water-park @ 12:45. See you then.

The text was simple but I knew what he meant.

“Kaycee, it’s water-park time!” I said, jumping up from my beach chair.

“Great!” She exclaimed, jumping up with me. We left our finished lemonades on the tables next to our chairs and headed back to the cabin to change into our swim suits.

We were in a rush, so multi-tasking was pretty important at this point of time. Kaycee was slapping on sunscreen onto my shoulders as we walked down the ramp from the ship and onto the boardwalk.

“Where are we meeting them?” Kaycee asked as she rubbed the sunscreen onto my shoulders and back.

“Great question. I should probably ask him that.” I replied, grabbing my phone from my beach bag.

Ali-P: See you at 12:45 then. Where will you be?

“Okay. Text sent. Now we just wait for a reply. Are you almost done back there?” I asked Kaycee, looking over my shoulder.

“Yup. My turn.” She said, coming up in front of me. She handed the bottle to me and I squirted some of the lotion into my palm, rubbing it around and then applying it to her back, making sure to cover every spot.

I heard my phone beep from inside my bag, but there was no way I was sliming it up!

“Kaycee, could you get my phone?” I asked. She reached back and grabbed it from my bag.

“It’s Nick.” She replied.

“What’d he say?”

“He says to go into the lobby. Ask for their room number and then meet them in their room.”

“Oh great. Do you think the receptionist will believe we’re just not some crazy fan-girls?” I asked, remembering last night at the club.

“What should I say back?” She asked, shrugging in answer to my question.

I finished applying the sunscreen and slipped the bottle into my bag, wiping my hands off on my beach towel that hung around my waist.

“Here.” I said, reaching for my phone. We hadn’t even reached the prom yet, and it was close to 12:20.

Ali-P: Will that work? Last night at the club, the host didn’t think we were with u.

“Come on, we’ve got to walk fast if we want to make it there on time.” I said after I sent the message. The boys’ hotel was a good half mile from the prom, and with all the people out and about on this gorgeous day, it would take a while to walk half a mile.

We picked up our pace, and were nearing the club when Nick texted me back.

Nick-J: Big Rob will be waiting for you.

“Oh, okay. That makes sense.” I said, reading Nick’s message.

“What makes sense?” Kaycee asked.

“Big Rob will be waiting for us.” I repeated Nick’s text message to Kaycee and then replied.

Ali-P: Awesome.

By the time we finally reached the hotel, it was 12:35. Just like Nick had said, Big Rob was waiting for us in the lobby. We didn’t have to go through the whole process of asking the receptionist for their room number, and then getting glared at like some crazy people.

Big Rob led us up to the boys’ room. It was huge, practically a house in a hotel. When we walked in, we saw the boys standing out on their balcony, overlooking the hotel’s private beach. Danielle was out there, too.

“Thanks Big Rob.” I said, before making my way to the balcony.

“No problem, Ali.” He replied. I loved how husky his voice sounded.

We walked toward the balcony door, opening it as quietly as possible. Of course, Joe must have ears that can ear a mouse on the floor during a storm, because he turned his stare in our direction as soon as the door clicked.

“Hey guys!” Joe said, causing Kevin, Nick and Danielle to look, too.

“Hey Joe!” Kaycee and I echoed together.

“Nice outfits!” Joe commented. Kaycee was wearing all sky-blue/teal, and I was wearing all white. You had to be matching, even if you were swimming!

“Are you guys ready to go?” Nick asked, leaving the rail where he had been leaning over.

“Yep.” I answered, giving him a smile.

We went back inside where Kaycee and I took off our tank tops and shorts, and stuffed them into my bag. I took the towel that had been around my waist, and put it tied it back like it had been before. Then we set off for the water-park.

The entire way down to the park, I was worried that fans would attack JB. Of course, that was the least of my worries, since we had Big Rob with us; but the only thing that he couldn’t protect the boys from…was the paparazzi. And as soon as we hit the sandy beach there were tons of them!

“Nick! Joe! Who are the girls?”

“Are these your girlfriends? Joe? Nick?”

The questions were flying at us from all directions. Nick just held up his left hand, and grabbed mine with his right. Their cameras kept snapping photos and I was sure we were going to be the headlines on the gossip sites later that night.

“Just ignore them.” Nick whispered in my ear. “Don’t answer any questions, either.”

I nodded my head as Nick opened the gate to the outdoor water park.

We made our way over to a secluded area and obtained some beach chairs. I set my bag down and then took off my flip-flops.

“Let’s go!” I exclaimed, grabbing Nick by the wrist after he’d pulled off his t-shirt and baseball cap.

We headed to the largest water slide first, of course. Except once we started climbing the steep stairs and path, it was Nick pulling me by the wrist instead of the other way around. I must have forgotten to mention to him that I was terribly afraid of heights?

“Nick stop pulling my arm! I’m afraid of heights!” I screamed to him as we got higher. We were right next to the rail that looked down across the rest of the park.

“Move over here.” He said, pulling me to the opposite rail, which bordered a grassy hill. I immediately felt much better, and he let go of my wrist.

“Thank you. Now that I’m no longer hyperventilating, we can actually enjoy the ride.” I said, a smile spreading across my face.

He returned the smile and we continued along the path. I looked over my shoulder to see Joe and Kaycee following after us. Kaycee obviously wasn’t afraid of heights, because she was practically dashing up the path, right next to the outer rail.

We finally reached the top of the path, and a lifeguard was waiting near the entrance to the slide. It looked like he could tell I was nervous…I was clinging onto Nick’s side, farthest away from the edge. Okay, so it was completely obvious, but still.

“If you want, you can sit in his lap.” The lifeguard suggested towards Nick. I looked up at him and he nodded.

This is going to be a tad awkward. I thought to myself. I looked over my shoulder and Joe and Kaycee gave me a look that said “Hurry up! You’re holding up the line!”

I looked back and Nick was already sitting on the slide, just waiting for me to hop on his lap. I climbed aboard, trying as hard as possible not to sit on his…well, family jewels.

The lifeguard gave Nick a shove in the back and we immediately went flying down the slide. I started screaming, and Nick was just holding onto me as tightly as possible, which made my screams turn into laughs. As we splashed into the pool at the bottom, I heard Nick laughing too.

“That. Was. Fun!” I said, breathless.

“Yes, it was.” He replied, laughing some more. We jumped out of the way just in time for Joe and Kaycee to come splashing into the pool. Kaycee had sat on Joe’s lap too.

I giggled when they stood up and walked over to us.

“Now where to?” I asked, smiling.

“Let’s head over to the pool.” Kaycee suggested.

I dashed over to the where I’d left my bag and grabbed it, heading after Joe, Kaycee & Nick. Kevin and Danielle had already headed over to the pool, so we were going to join up with them.

I left my bag next to Danielle’s things once we had gotten to the pool, and then jumped right in. It was cool and refreshing.

“Come on, Nick! Don’t be afraid!” I said, splashing some water at Nick, who was standing on the edge.

“Who says I’m afraid?” He asked before plunging in. He came up and shook his wet curls.

My god, if he hadn‘t already melted my heart, that would have done it right there. I thought to myself as I smiled, swimming over to him.

“Very graceful.” I commented on his plunge.

“Thanks.” He said, smiling.

We swam for an hour and half before all agreeing that we were starving. After Kaycee and I had dried off all the way, we put our clothes back on over our swimsuits and then followed the boys to a gorgeous fenced-in outdoor dining area.

Our table was served little sandwiches cut in triangles, like in England, and Joe went off on a story of how since the Bahamas were owned by England (which I wasn’t sure if they were or not, but believed him anyways) that that was the reason for the sandwiches being like they were. I couldn’t keep a straight face and try to eat my sandwich the entire time Joe was explaining the ridiculous story to us.

Nick kept looking at him like he was crazy, but also laughed a couple of times.

After we had finished eating I pulled out my cell phone and checked the time. It was almost 4:15, and the ship was leaving for the US at exactly 5.

“I hate to be a fun ruin-er, but we have to go. The ship leaves in 45 minutes.” I said, slipping the phone back into the bag. Joe looked up at me, and then took out his own cell phone.

“She’s right. Dudes, we’ve got to get back to the hotel and pack our things, or we’re gonna miss the cruise home!” He exclaimed, waving for the waiter to bring the bill.

Nick looked at me like he wasn’t ever going to see me again, but I gave him a reassuring smile.

“We better get going, Kaycee.” I said, getting up from the table.

Kaycee got up too, and I bent down to grab my bag.

“Here, Joe, I’ve got the bill. Go along with Kaycee.” I heard Kevin whisper from his place on the other side of Nick and Danielle.

Joe and Nick both got up from the table and walked us out of the fenced-in dining area.

Kaycee gave Joe a hug and I could hear him whispering something to her. I was so going to have to make sure she told me what it was later.

“I’ll see you guys when you get back on the ship,” I said, hugging Nick.

“I’ll see you too.” He replied. His voice sounded different, almost like he was realizing we only had one week left together. Now he had me realizing it too, and I hugged him tighter.

I pulled apart from him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“See ya later, Nicky.” I said, pushing down the brim of the baseball cap he was wearing.

“Bye.” He said, letting his fingers trail along my palm before completely letting go of my hand.

Kaycee and I started walking back along the sidewalk, heading for the prom. I gave her a glance, and suddenly she started singing Hannah Montana’s song “He Could Be the One.”

“Smooth talkin’. So rockin’. He’s got everything that a girl’s wantin’.” She sang, a smile spreading across her face.

Of course I couldn’t just walk next to her and not sing along. I could see what she was doing.

“Guitar cutie. He plays it groovy.” I sang, joining in.

“And I can’t keep myself from doing something stupid. Think I’m really falling for his smile. Get butterflies when he says my name.” We sang in unison. We were both smiling, and my cheeks were starting to hurt. “He’s got something special. He’s got something special. And when’s he’s looking at me I wanna get all sentimental!”

“Keep going!” Kaycee said, pointing at me to sing solo.

“He’s got something special. He’s got something special. I can hardly breathe. Something’s telling me, telling me, maybe he could be the one.” I sang, beginning to get breathless.

I looked over my shoulder and saw that Nick and Joe were still standing where we had left them. We hadn’t walked too far, maybe about 50 feet. I wondered if they had heard us singing.

~.Nick’s POV.~

I stood there watching Alison and Kaycee walk away, Joe at my side. I could hear them singing something, but they were getting too far away for me to be able to tell what it was.

I started humming, thinking maybe I would be able to figure it out, but a totally different song came to mind.

“Are you serious?” Joe asked, listening to me hum the tune.

Oops. I didn’t realize I was doing that outloud.

“What are you talking about dude?” I asked, trying to play it off; my eyes were still watching Alison as she and Kaycee now seemed to be skipping along with singing.

“You were just humming a song.” Joe said, stating the obvious. Of course I knew I was humming a song…I was the one doing it, after all. “…Tonight will be the night that I will fall for you. Over again. Don’t make me change my mind.”

“Or I won’t live to see another day. I swear it’s true. Because a girl like you is impossible to find. You’re impossible to find.” I sang with Joe as we both watched our dream girls walking back towards the ship.

I itched to get back to the hotel so we could pack and get on the ship. The sooner I saw Ali again, the better.

Chapter Six

I was interrupted from the map when I heard my phone beeping from the clutch. I dashed over and picked it up. One new text message! It was Nick:

Nick-J: Hi. We’re getting to the club early. If you’re not finished yet, don’t rush, it’s ok.

I read what the text said and then replied:

Ali-P: No, it’s ok. We’re almost finished anyways. See you soon!

“Kaycee, are you almost finished?” I hollered at her. It would take us a good 15 minutes to walk to the club from the ship, and Nick and his brothers were already there. It was a good thing we hadn’t stayed out tanning for longer than we did.

“Yep, I’m done.” Kaycee said as she came around the corner.

“Alright, let’s go. Nick just texted me. There on their way to the club right now.” I said, sliding my phone back into my clutch. I picked up the directions in my other hand as Kaycee grabbed her purse and followed behind me out the cabin.

We were both glad we hadn’t worn heels because as soon as we hit the sand between the short distance from the end of the boardwalk and the start of the promenade, it was difficult to walk through the sand.

We followed the route I had drawn on the map, and just like I’d suspected, we made it to the club in fifteen minutes flat. I was surprised when I didn’t see the guys standing outside the club.

“Uhm, where are they?” I asked Kaycee as she too glanced around.

“Maybe there inside? I don’t think they’d stand out here in broad daylight. They’d be asking to be mauled.” Kaycee shrugged. I nodded and we went inside the club.

There was a young man standing behind a podium in a little waiting lounge-type of area, and I went over to him.

“Hi, have the Jonas Brothers arrived yet?” I asked him. The look on his face was shocked at first.

He probably wants to know why fan girls are here, and how we know the boys are here. The only thing is, I have no proof stating that we are their dates for the evening.

“Excuse me one moment, miss. What’s your name?” He asked. I saw the flash of his badge, and read his name: Pete.

“Uhm, yeah, I’m Alison Parker and this is my friend, Kaycee Reese. We’re supposed to be meeting the Jonas’ here tonight.” I exclaimed. Once again the shock returned to his face. I could tell that getting through to him might take a while.

“Alright, Ms. Parker, have a seat. I’ll be right back.” Pete said, turning on his heels.

“Sit. He says.” I mentioned to Kaycee. She looked at me astonishingly, but nodded and we both plopped down on the red velvet couch.

Within moments Pete returned. Much to my pleasure the shock on his face was gone, and replaced with a smile. As he approached us we stood up and went towards the podium.

“Ahh, Ms. Parker, Ms. Reese, follow me right this way.” He gave us a smile and motioned for us to follow him.

I turned to Kaycee and we both let out quiet squeals, trying not to interrupt others as we passed. Pete led us into a secluded area, and right away I saw the Jonas’. I noticed a girl sitting with Kevin, and recognized her immediately as his fiancée, Danielle.

“Is that Danielle?” Kaycee asked me not a second later.

“Yeah. She must’ve flown down to meet them here.” I replied. I quickly put a smile on my face as the host ‘handed us over’ to the brothers.

Nick got up from his place at the U-shaped booth and let Kaycee slip in next to Joe. I slipped in next so that I was between Kaycee & Nick, sitting opposite of Kevin who sat next to Joe. Danielle was sitting on the outside, across from Nick.

“Kaycee, Ali, this is Kevin’s fiancée, Danielle.” Nick introduced us. “Danielle, this is Joe’s date, Kaycee, and my date, Ali.”

We all exchanged our hello’s and then the waitress came to give us our menus.

“We chose this place because it’s has the best seafood around.” Joe explained as he passed a menu down to Kevin.

“Actually,” Nick said, flipping over his menu with a grin on his face, “Joe, chose this place. Danger knows his food.”

“I hope you guys like seafood?” Kevin said, it was more of a statement than a question.

“Yeah, definitely, I love it.” I said, smiling.

“Same here! Seafood is the best!” Kaycee exclaimed, glancing up at Joe who smiled back at her.

Could they not be more perfect for each other? They both act crazy sometimes. I bet they’re going to get along great!

It didn’t take long for all of us to order, and we were only really waiting on Nick. He was testing his blood sugar after he had chosen what he wanted.

“Okay, I’m good to go.” He sighed, placing his meter into the front pocket of his blue-plaid shirt. I noticed that all the Jonas boys were wearing black skinny jeans, and like always, nice shirts.

“Are you all ready to order?” The waitress asked, interrupting my fashion-faze.

We placed our orders and got to talking while we waited for our drinks and food to arrive.

“You look amazing tonight, Ali.” Nick said, leaning close to me so I could hear above the buzzing of other customers.

“Thanks.” I replied, blushing.

“I really love your dress, Ali. Where’d you get it?” Danielle asked. She set her left hand up on the table, and it was intertwined with Kevin’s. For the first time I was actually seeing the engagement ring he had gotten her, and it was beautiful.

“I got it at one of the shops down the prom.” I replied, taking my eyes from her ring.

“It’s gorgeous.” Danielle said. Wow, she was so kind!

“Thank you.” I replied.

“So what are you guys doing tomorrow?” Kaycee asked, interrupting the moment of silence that had dawned over the table.

“We’re actually gonna go hit up the golf course.” Joe said, “There’s nothing like golfing in the Bahamas!”

Nick and I laughed.

“They don’t stand a chance.” Nick pointed to Kevin and Joe. “I always win against them. Joe can’t even hit the golf ball.”

“Oh! I saw that video on YouTube!” Kaycee exclaimed. “The one where Joe can’t hit the ball, but your’s goes flying, Nick.”

I was started laughing again and Kevin, Danielle and Nick joined in.

“Hey! I was just a little rusty.” Joe pouted.

We continued to talk until our food arrived. I had ordered the classic fish & chips; Joe ordered a lobster, same with Kevin; Nick ordered shrimp, and both Danielle and Kaycee had ordered salmon. The food looked delicious and we got to eating right away.

“Where at in L.A. do you live?” Joe was asking me as I cut into my large fish stick.

“I actually live in a neighborhood in Malibu. My house is right on the beach.” I replied, taking a bite of my food after I finished talking.

“Really? That’s not far from our house in L.A.” Nick said.

“What about you Kaycee?” Joe asked, turning to look at her. She put a finger in the air before swallowing, and then speaking up.

“I’m in Malibu too. Not right on the beach, but about a mile’s walk from it.” She replied.

I couldn’t believe we all lived so close to each other. I was getting more lucky by the moment!

By the time I was finished with my food, Joe was the only one still eating. Kaycee was busy talking to him in between bites, and Kevin and Danielle were deeply emerged in a conversation.

I handed my plate to Nick when the waitress came to collect our dishes, and then excused myself to go to the bathroom.

I did my business and renewed my make-up before returning to the table, where Joe was finally finished eating.

“We should go take a walk down on the prom.” Kaycee suggested. “Walk off dinner.”

“That’s a good idea. I think I’ll loose my dinner if it doesn’t start digesting itself.” Joe said, rubbing his stomach.

“Joe.” Nick warned, giving him a serious look.

“What bro? I’m serious.” Joe said. Nick gave him another stern look.

We got up from the table and headed outside while Kevin and his brothers pitched in to pay for the meal.

The wind on the promenade was chilly, and I was wishing I had brought a sweater with me. I thought nights in the Bahamas were supposed to be warm, but I guess I thought wrong!

I pulled my cell out of my clutch and checked the time: 8:oo PM. I had no new text messages, which was surprising since my mom usually texted me around this time to talk about my day. I was interrupted when I heard Joe talking when he came out of the club door.

Kevin put his around Danielle, and Nick came over to me.

“Which way should we go?” I asked him, looking into his brown eyes.

“Uhm, how about this way?” He asked, pointing straight. “That’s the way to the prom.”

“Oh yeah. Right.” I laughed, feeling a little embarrassed. Of course the prom was straight ahead. It lied horizontal with the beach.

We started walking, and Kevin and the others followed behind us.

“I had a good time, tonight, Nick.” I said once we had reached the prom and took a right. “Thanks for inviting me.”

“N-no problem. I had fun too.” Nick said. I could sense he was getting a little shy, especially since it was just the two of us. I risked a quick glance over my shoulder and saw Kaycee was laughing at something Joe had said; his arm around her shoulders. Kevin and Danielle had their hands intertwined and from the pointing Kevin was doing, I figured he must’ve been talking about one of the hotels we were passing.

I giggled a little, and then returned my focus in front of me.

“What’s so funny?” Nick asked, looking over my shoulder.

“Oh, Joe was telling Kaycee something. I don’t know what it was, but she was just laughing.” I said.

A sudden chill coursed up my arms, causing the hair on them and my neck to stand up. I shivered a little.

“Are you cold?” Nick asked, stepping a little closer to me.

“A little.” For a second I thought he would take off his jacket and put it around me, until I realized he didn’t have a jacket on. “What hotel are you guys staying in?” I asked, taking my mind off being chilled.

“At Atlantis Beach Towers. It’s part of the 3-towers of Atlantis…I guess that’s what you’d call it?” Nick said.

“Isn’t that the place with manta rays? And the Aztec-like slide that shoots you underwater past some type of sea creature?” I asked. He made a 'Wow!' face.

“Yeah, it is! How’d you know?” He asked.

“My Dad’s been on vacation here a few times. He stayed at one of those hotels, and he told us about it.” I replied.

“Do you want to do that tomorrow?” Nick asked, stopping suddenly. I felt his hand on my wrist and he pulled me around to face him.

“I thought you and your brothers were going golfing?” I reminded him of what Joe has said earlier during dinner.

“There’s a golf course there. I can golf with them early in the morning. I know Joe wouldn’t mind going to the water-park anyways.” Nick said, laughing.

“Yeah, I mean, I would love to come with you. Are you sure it’s ok though? Don’t you guys want like, some private family time?” I asked, looking up at his eyes once again.

“Our idea of private family time would be going to the water-park.” Nick laughed. “And my parents will see no problem with you and Kaycee coming along, since Danielle is here with Kevin.”

He did make a very good point.

“So does this mean I get to meet your parents too?” I asked him, smiling.

“Yep.” Amazing. He actually smiled with his teeth! Of course, that caused me to smile even bigger. Nick’s hand that wasn’t holding mine moved to my waist and I felt him pull me closer.

Kevin, Danielle, Joe and Kaycee had managed to catch up to us since we had stopped in the middle of the prom.

“Nick, we should probably be getting back to the hotel.” Kevin said once he was within earshot.

His words sounded mumbled too my ears, but only because I was having a hard time not jumping Nick Jonas right then and there and kissing him. His chocolate eyes practically made me melt.

“Nick!” Joe shouted a little, causing both Nick and I to jump.

“What?” He replied, turning around to face his brothers.

“Time to go.” Kevin said, eyeing him cautiously. I felt Nick’s hand slip away from my waist, but his fingers still remained locked with the fingers of my hand. He nodded and started walking back the direction we had come from.

Kaycee and I had decided it best to walk them to their hotel, instead of them walking us to the ship. We didn’t want them to get jumped by crazy fans on the way back. After much debating, they had finally agreed to it, and even Danielle thought the plan was plausible.

It didn’t take us long to reach the hotel, and we said our goodbyes to Joe, Kevin, Nick and Danielle. Dani gave us each a hug before she and Kevin headed into the hotel, leaving Joe and Nick standing with us.

“So we’ll see you tomorrow.” Nick said to me as I still held his hand. We walked under the overhang where guests could unload their luggage, and were standing under the bright light.

“Yeah. I guess you’ll text me with the time?” I asked.

“Yes.” Nick replied. Suddenly he leaned down and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I blushed after he had pulled away, and noticed his cheeks were a little pink too. I gave him a smile, and looked over to where Joe and Kaycee were to see them in a full lip-lock.

Well, that didn’t take long. I snickered.

“I guess they’re a couple.” I said to Nick, who was also looking at Joe and Kaycee.

“Confirmed.” Nick laughed. It reminded me of all those gossip sites that ‘confirm’ stars dating. I wondered when this would hit, and promised myself to check the websites sometime later this week.

“Bye.” I said to Nick. He waved goodbye as I turned around. Kaycee and Joe were done kissing.

“Come on Kaycee. It’s a long walk back to the ship.” I said, grabbing her wrist.

“Bye Joe!” She called over her shoulder. I giggled again.

“So are you guys a couple now or what?” I asked.

“I don’t know. He didn’t ask me to be his girlfriend. He just kissed me.” Kaycee replied, a smile forming on her face.

“Friends with benefits, then?” I joked.

“Oh come on, Ali! You know they have a promise.” Kaycee said, laughing too.

Nick was wrong about that whole ‘Confirmed’ thing, then. I thought too myself.

“I know, I know. Come on, let’s get back to the ship.” I said, walking down the winding driveway, with Kaycee at my hip.

Chapter Five

The following morning Kaycee and I found a great restaurant for breakfast and we indulged ourselves in pancakes and syrup. Kaycee was once again reading the Disney Cruise-Letter in between bites of the sweet morning food.

“Did you call Joe yet?” I asked her, seemingly as it was my turn to pester her about the rock-star, instead of the other way around.

“Not yet. I think I’ll call him later. I know they’re probably tired from the show last night.” Kaycee explained.

I heard my phone beep from inside my purse and pulled it out to find a new text message.

Nick-J: Hey Ali. Are you and Kaycee up for hanging with me and my bros tonight in the Bahamas?

I laughed when I saw that Nick had highlighted the word “Bahamas” in the color of the ocean-water, but I wasted no time in sending him a reply.

Ali-P: Of course! Sounds like fun. (:

“Who are you texting?” Kaycee asked as I shut my phone.

“Guess.” I said. Her only response was her eyes lighting up.

“Ooh, what’d he say!?” She was more focused on me now than the Cruise-Letter.

“He asked if we wanted to hang with him, Joe & Kevin tonight…” I was building up the suspense… “In the Bahamas!” The last part might of came out like a little shriek, but Kaycee caught on.

“You know what this means right?” Kaycee asked, her eyes getting wide. “We need to go shopping!!”

She was so right about that! I needed something new to wear, and I bet there were tons of gorgeous summer outfits just waiting for us in the Bahamas.

“Oop, hold on, Nick texted me back.” I said, putting my finger in the air.

Nick-J: How does seven sound?

“What’d he say? What’d he say?” Kaycee begged.

“He said they’ll meet us at 7. We dock at 2, so that’ll be enough time to go shopping and get ready.” I sent him a message back.

Ali-P: Perfect. We’re going to hit some stores before we meet up with you guys. Where at?

“Ok. And, in case you’re wondering, I told him we’re going to go shopping, and oh, I asked where we’ll meet.” She nodded.

Nick-J: The Bahamian Club. Paradise Island.

Ali-P: Sounds cool. We’ll be there!

Of course I didn’t bother asking him how he knew if there was a Bahamian Club on the Island, I knew he’d been there before, and I knew he was the serious one, so he probably took it upon himself to find places to eat.

Nick-J: Great. See you then!

“Ok, it’s all set,” I said once I had finished my short but awesome conversation with the 2nd-youngest Jonas. “We’re to meet them at The Bahamian Club on Paradise Island, at 7 PM.” I squealed.

“Eeep! I can’t wait!” Kaycee exclaimed, “Are we lucky or what?”

I nodded. So lucky.

As soon as the ship docked, Kaycee and I had our feet on that gorgeous white sand. You can’t just go to the Bahamas and not play in the sand and water! We had decided to hang out on the beach until 3, and then go shopping.

Lucky for us, the ship’s staff had a guard on duty, and only passengers were allowed back on the ship, that way you wouldn’t have to rent a hotel room for the day. This was great since me and Kaycee would have to change into our outfits for tonight.

The Jonai had been walking behind us as we exited the ship, and I had heard them muttering something about tonight. Of course, as soon as we hit the boardwalk, they were surrounded by fans. As we had walked to where we were playing in the sand now, Nick had texted me saying they were going to be renting a hotel room for the day they would have a place to rest in-between sight seeing.

“Isn’t this gorgeous?” I asked Kaycee as I bent down to pick up my flip-flops and let the cool sand pour over my feet.

“Super gorgeous.” Kaycee agreed. We stared out at the crystal blue water, which looked warm and inviting.

“We’ll have to swim tomorrow.” I told her as we walked along the shore. We only had 48 hours on the beautiful island, because it took 4 ½ days to sail back to L.A..

“To swim in the Bahamian waters!” Kaycee growled in some sort of accent, which she must of thought sounded Bahamian. I giggled at her and we continued walking along the sandy beaches.

It wasn’t even 3 yet when we decided to hit the stores, but we couldn’t just keep passing them by and drooling over what we saw inside, so we had decided to give up the beach and go shopping!!

We first decided to hit up the original beach store with all your beach-y needs. I had remembered to pack my camera in my purse, so when Kaycee tried on a captain’s hat, I made sure to put one on too and we took a picture.

“This is going on the wall our cabin!” I exclaimed as we giggled over it.

“Too bad the hat’s $15! I would love to buy it, but I need money for tonight’s outfit, and that’s not a part of it!” Kaycee laughed as we walked down an aisle filled with beach toys.

By the time we had gotten into the third store, Kaycee already had her entire outfit picked out, and all she needed were accessories. She had chosen an orange Monsoon Fusion dress, and matching orange flats to go with it, costing her a total so far of $83. I’ll admit, the dress looked a little funky with the pattern going up each side of it, but it looked cute on Kaycee.

“You are such a great shopper,” I said to Kaycee through the wall of the changing room. I was trying on a sky blue dress with white flowers on it, and so far I liked it. It was the same brand as Kaycee’s.

“What do you think of this?” I asked, coming out of the dressing room.

“Oh my gosh! You look amazing! Nick’s going to flip!” Kaycee squealed when she saw it.

“Thanks Kaycee! By the way, you may not want to advertise our date with the You-Know-Who bros tonight…we don’t want fans crashing it, do we?” I asked her. She gave me a return “I get it” face and went back to looking for a headband.

We quickly paid for our dresses before going to another store to shop for accessories. I was looking in the shoe department when Kaycee came running up to me, squealing.

“Look. At. What. I. Found!” She said each word in a different breath, and held out a pair of earrings to me. One said “Rock” and the other said “Roll”.

“Oh my gosh! Those are so cute! They totally match your dress, too!” I exclaimed.

It didn’t take me long to find a pair of shoes I liked, and then we headed over to the jewelry section. I immediately spotted some gorgeous bangles that I knew would go fabulous with my dress, so I put them in the shopping cart.

“Are you all set to go?” I asked Kaycee after we had paid for our things and were walking out of the store.

“Yep.” She replied, pulling her cell out of her purse to check the time. “It’s 4:30; we still have 2 ½ hours till we have to meet them. I bet if we just hung out for a half hour on the ship, and then started getting ready, we’d be able to make it on time. After all, it will probably take us fifteen minutes just to find and get to the place!”

I agreed with Kaycee and we made our way back to the ship where we grabbed something to eat and then headed out to the deck to tan for a short while.

We were able to tan for forty-five-minutes before we headed back to our room to get ready. Once again, Kaycee insisted on doing my hair, and I let her, only if she promised to put the Jonas’ CD Lines, Vines, & Trying Times into her portable boom-box and set it on the bathroom counter; of course, she agreed and got down to curling and styling my hair.

In return, I did her hair. She insisted on letting it hang down and loose, so I just made it wavy and let her bangs side-sweep over her forehead. My hair was up in a pony-tail with the bulgy-rocker bangs in the front.

After we’d finished each others’ hair, we set to work doing our own make-up. The only difference between us really was that I used sky-blue eye shadow and Kaycee used a peachy-orange shadow. I applied pink blush to my cheeks, bronzer to my forehead, and then a dark blue eyeliner. Kaycee had done her eyes in a simple black eyeliner, going with the pink blush and bronzer for her cheeks and forehead too. Of course, we couldn’t forget the lip-gloss, and we both rubbed a clear gloss on our lips.

I went into the main room and started going through my top dresser drawer before pulling out a white clutch. I put my cell phone, wallet, a mirror, lip-gloss and some touch-up make-up inside.

“Kaycee?” I asked as I snapped the clutch shut.

“Yeah?” She replied from the bathroom.

“Did you get the directions to the club?” I asked, giving myself a quick once-over in the hall mirror before looking at the clock: 6:15 PM.

“Yeah. There near my purse.” I wandered over to her bed where her purse sat, and sure enough there were the directions to the club. I looked them over and mapped our route to the club with a pen. It didn’t look like it would take us that long to get there.
