Chapter Five

The following morning Kaycee and I found a great restaurant for breakfast and we indulged ourselves in pancakes and syrup. Kaycee was once again reading the Disney Cruise-Letter in between bites of the sweet morning food.

“Did you call Joe yet?” I asked her, seemingly as it was my turn to pester her about the rock-star, instead of the other way around.

“Not yet. I think I’ll call him later. I know they’re probably tired from the show last night.” Kaycee explained.

I heard my phone beep from inside my purse and pulled it out to find a new text message.

Nick-J: Hey Ali. Are you and Kaycee up for hanging with me and my bros tonight in the Bahamas?

I laughed when I saw that Nick had highlighted the word “Bahamas” in the color of the ocean-water, but I wasted no time in sending him a reply.

Ali-P: Of course! Sounds like fun. (:

“Who are you texting?” Kaycee asked as I shut my phone.

“Guess.” I said. Her only response was her eyes lighting up.

“Ooh, what’d he say!?” She was more focused on me now than the Cruise-Letter.

“He asked if we wanted to hang with him, Joe & Kevin tonight…” I was building up the suspense… “In the Bahamas!” The last part might of came out like a little shriek, but Kaycee caught on.

“You know what this means right?” Kaycee asked, her eyes getting wide. “We need to go shopping!!”

She was so right about that! I needed something new to wear, and I bet there were tons of gorgeous summer outfits just waiting for us in the Bahamas.

“Oop, hold on, Nick texted me back.” I said, putting my finger in the air.

Nick-J: How does seven sound?

“What’d he say? What’d he say?” Kaycee begged.

“He said they’ll meet us at 7. We dock at 2, so that’ll be enough time to go shopping and get ready.” I sent him a message back.

Ali-P: Perfect. We’re going to hit some stores before we meet up with you guys. Where at?

“Ok. And, in case you’re wondering, I told him we’re going to go shopping, and oh, I asked where we’ll meet.” She nodded.

Nick-J: The Bahamian Club. Paradise Island.

Ali-P: Sounds cool. We’ll be there!

Of course I didn’t bother asking him how he knew if there was a Bahamian Club on the Island, I knew he’d been there before, and I knew he was the serious one, so he probably took it upon himself to find places to eat.

Nick-J: Great. See you then!

“Ok, it’s all set,” I said once I had finished my short but awesome conversation with the 2nd-youngest Jonas. “We’re to meet them at The Bahamian Club on Paradise Island, at 7 PM.” I squealed.

“Eeep! I can’t wait!” Kaycee exclaimed, “Are we lucky or what?”

I nodded. So lucky.

As soon as the ship docked, Kaycee and I had our feet on that gorgeous white sand. You can’t just go to the Bahamas and not play in the sand and water! We had decided to hang out on the beach until 3, and then go shopping.

Lucky for us, the ship’s staff had a guard on duty, and only passengers were allowed back on the ship, that way you wouldn’t have to rent a hotel room for the day. This was great since me and Kaycee would have to change into our outfits for tonight.

The Jonai had been walking behind us as we exited the ship, and I had heard them muttering something about tonight. Of course, as soon as we hit the boardwalk, they were surrounded by fans. As we had walked to where we were playing in the sand now, Nick had texted me saying they were going to be renting a hotel room for the day they would have a place to rest in-between sight seeing.

“Isn’t this gorgeous?” I asked Kaycee as I bent down to pick up my flip-flops and let the cool sand pour over my feet.

“Super gorgeous.” Kaycee agreed. We stared out at the crystal blue water, which looked warm and inviting.

“We’ll have to swim tomorrow.” I told her as we walked along the shore. We only had 48 hours on the beautiful island, because it took 4 ½ days to sail back to L.A..

“To swim in the Bahamian waters!” Kaycee growled in some sort of accent, which she must of thought sounded Bahamian. I giggled at her and we continued walking along the sandy beaches.

It wasn’t even 3 yet when we decided to hit the stores, but we couldn’t just keep passing them by and drooling over what we saw inside, so we had decided to give up the beach and go shopping!!

We first decided to hit up the original beach store with all your beach-y needs. I had remembered to pack my camera in my purse, so when Kaycee tried on a captain’s hat, I made sure to put one on too and we took a picture.

“This is going on the wall our cabin!” I exclaimed as we giggled over it.

“Too bad the hat’s $15! I would love to buy it, but I need money for tonight’s outfit, and that’s not a part of it!” Kaycee laughed as we walked down an aisle filled with beach toys.

By the time we had gotten into the third store, Kaycee already had her entire outfit picked out, and all she needed were accessories. She had chosen an orange Monsoon Fusion dress, and matching orange flats to go with it, costing her a total so far of $83. I’ll admit, the dress looked a little funky with the pattern going up each side of it, but it looked cute on Kaycee.

“You are such a great shopper,” I said to Kaycee through the wall of the changing room. I was trying on a sky blue dress with white flowers on it, and so far I liked it. It was the same brand as Kaycee’s.

“What do you think of this?” I asked, coming out of the dressing room.

“Oh my gosh! You look amazing! Nick’s going to flip!” Kaycee squealed when she saw it.

“Thanks Kaycee! By the way, you may not want to advertise our date with the You-Know-Who bros tonight…we don’t want fans crashing it, do we?” I asked her. She gave me a return “I get it” face and went back to looking for a headband.

We quickly paid for our dresses before going to another store to shop for accessories. I was looking in the shoe department when Kaycee came running up to me, squealing.

“Look. At. What. I. Found!” She said each word in a different breath, and held out a pair of earrings to me. One said “Rock” and the other said “Roll”.

“Oh my gosh! Those are so cute! They totally match your dress, too!” I exclaimed.

It didn’t take me long to find a pair of shoes I liked, and then we headed over to the jewelry section. I immediately spotted some gorgeous bangles that I knew would go fabulous with my dress, so I put them in the shopping cart.

“Are you all set to go?” I asked Kaycee after we had paid for our things and were walking out of the store.

“Yep.” She replied, pulling her cell out of her purse to check the time. “It’s 4:30; we still have 2 ½ hours till we have to meet them. I bet if we just hung out for a half hour on the ship, and then started getting ready, we’d be able to make it on time. After all, it will probably take us fifteen minutes just to find and get to the place!”

I agreed with Kaycee and we made our way back to the ship where we grabbed something to eat and then headed out to the deck to tan for a short while.

We were able to tan for forty-five-minutes before we headed back to our room to get ready. Once again, Kaycee insisted on doing my hair, and I let her, only if she promised to put the Jonas’ CD Lines, Vines, & Trying Times into her portable boom-box and set it on the bathroom counter; of course, she agreed and got down to curling and styling my hair.

In return, I did her hair. She insisted on letting it hang down and loose, so I just made it wavy and let her bangs side-sweep over her forehead. My hair was up in a pony-tail with the bulgy-rocker bangs in the front.

After we’d finished each others’ hair, we set to work doing our own make-up. The only difference between us really was that I used sky-blue eye shadow and Kaycee used a peachy-orange shadow. I applied pink blush to my cheeks, bronzer to my forehead, and then a dark blue eyeliner. Kaycee had done her eyes in a simple black eyeliner, going with the pink blush and bronzer for her cheeks and forehead too. Of course, we couldn’t forget the lip-gloss, and we both rubbed a clear gloss on our lips.

I went into the main room and started going through my top dresser drawer before pulling out a white clutch. I put my cell phone, wallet, a mirror, lip-gloss and some touch-up make-up inside.

“Kaycee?” I asked as I snapped the clutch shut.

“Yeah?” She replied from the bathroom.

“Did you get the directions to the club?” I asked, giving myself a quick once-over in the hall mirror before looking at the clock: 6:15 PM.

“Yeah. There near my purse.” I wandered over to her bed where her purse sat, and sure enough there were the directions to the club. I looked them over and mapped our route to the club with a pen. It didn’t look like it would take us that long to get there.

Chapter Four

~. Alison’s POV.~

The following Friday was our 5th day aboard the ship. We were almost to the Bahamas, and I could barely hold back my excitement.

“I just can’t believe we’re actually going to the Bahamas. I’ve been wanting to go there since…” I was dishing my dreams to Kaycee as we sat and enjoyed lunch. The Jonas Brothers were dining a few tables over from us, and once again, the youngest Jo Bro couldn’t focus his eyes anywhere but on me. “Well, since I don’t know when.”

“I know, I know.” Kaycee was murmuring. Between bites of her salad, she was reading the latest Disney Cruise-Letter. “Oh my gosh!”

“What?” I barely managed to swallow my lemonade, causing it to go down the wrong way, as I choked out the question. I raised my hands in the air to help clear the intrusion of my wind pipes, and Nick must of thought I was waving to him, because he returned a wave, along with his adorable smile. I couldn’t help but muster one back through my fit, to show I had seen him.

“The Jonai are having a concert tonight! Of course, it’s free for everyone on the ship. The first 75 guests there get dibs on seats first. We are so going.” Kaycee exclaimed.

“No way!? What time does it start? We’ll have to be there early.”

“It starts at 8:00. I’m sure if we’re there around 5:30, we’ll be the first of the 75. I mean, how many people are on this cruise? How many actually read the Disney Cruise-Letter?” Kaycee asked.

She made a very good point. There were only about 250 guests on board. Even if it was a Disney Cruise, I was certain not everyone could like the Jonas Brothers…which was really a shame on their part. They had no idea what they were missing out on!

Of course, my thoughts were soon distracted when I heard a crash. I looked up to see that Joe had smacked right into a waiter, causing lemonade to splash all over himself and his brothers. Nick stood up and the lemonade was just dripping off of him.

“Oh my gosh! Poor Nick!” Kaycee remarked. “It’s a good thing he’s wearing dark colors.”

Once again, Kaycee made a very good point. Joseph, aka Danger, apologized quickly to the also-sopping waiter, before grabbing the tin of napkins off their table and tossing them on the floor to mop up the mess. The look on Kevin’s face was just as shocked as Kaycee’s. It seemed all he could do was stare with his mouth open at the mess, and gape at Nick who was trying to use a napkin to soak up the puddle in his chair.

Around five o’clock, Kaycee and I began to get ready for the Jonas concert. As I did my make-up, Kaycee was blabbing from the room wondering if Nick had been able to get the lemonade out of his outfit, and of course himself.

“I’m sure he did, Kaycee. I mean, showers are quite common.” I joked.

“Yes I know.” Came Kaycee’s voice.

I finished my make-up, got dressed, and finally did my hair. We were finally able to exit the room after Kaycee was finished repairing a bracelet, and surprisingly, we were even 5 minutes early.

“Wow.” Kaycee exclaimed once we had finally gotten to the line.

“What?” I asked, obviously unaware of what she was ’wowing’ about.

“Look at this! We’re like, the 20’s in the line. Yes!” She grabbed my hand and pulled me into the line before we could be the 30’s…or worse.

Much too our happiness, the guards let us in at 6:30 to watch the boys do their sound check, so we only had to stand in line for an hour, which wasn’t all that bad.

I was shocked as Kaycee drug me into the venue - yup, that’s right. The venue was just like that on land, but smaller of course. Either way, I was impressed that they could have such a thing on a ship.

We managed to get 2nd row seats, which was amazing!! I had never had such great seats to a concert before, let alone a Jonas Brothers concert! We were only waiting about ten minutes before the boys came on stage to do sound check. Immediately me and Kaycee, along with all the other fan girls, started screaming.
Amazingly, Nick was right in front of me the entire time.

They sang 5 songs for sound check, and also interacted with the fans. I caught Nick staring at me a few times while he strummed the chorus to “Tonight” on his guitar.

“This is amazing!” I shouted over the music to Kaycee. We were both standing up and dancing and singing along with the boys. “It’s a good thing you read that newsletter!”

“I know, right!?” Kaycee exclaimed back, breathless from singing along with Joe, Nick & Kevin.

When the Jonai were finally done with sound check, they got off the stage and walked down the aisle on the outside of the seats. Me and Kaycee jumped up from our seats and went to the end of our aisle. Big Rob was leading the boys from the stage to the backstage area. We both put our hands out as they passed. I felt Big Rob’s hand hit mine first, followed by Kevin, Joe and then finally Nick, who practically gripped my hand and didn’t let go.

I felt something in my palm and grasped it, pulling it in front of my face to see what it was. I shrieked as I looked at what was in my palm.

“What?” Kaycee asked, pulling my shoulder.

“Two genuine backstage passes!!” I shouted, of course not too loud. I wasn’t about to get mobbed.

“Le gasp! No freaking way!!!” Kaycee exclaimed, taking one of the passes from my hand. She flipped it over, her mouth dropping open. “Omigosh!”

We jumped up and down and then put the lanyards around our necks. We weren’t about to lose those passes! Since the boys weren’t going to be coming out until eight, we decided to go get merch and food, but one at a time so we wouldn’t lose our seats.

I let Kaycee go first, and she came back with a Jonas T-shirt, and curly fries. I stole one of her fries before heading off in the direction she’d told me to go.

The shop was filled with loads of Jonas merch. I had only brought $35 with me, so I decided on a T-shirt for $15, and then grabbed myself a burger and drink.

By the time I had made it back to my seat, it was 7:30. The only opening act was Mitchell Musso, but he still got a lot of support, especially since nobody knew he was even on the ship. Apparently, he had just gotten there today.

After the most-amazing-concert-of-my-life, was over, Kaycee and I headed backstage.

“I can’t believe I’m about to meet the Jonas Brothers!” Kaycee exclaimed as she linked arms with me.

“We met them on Monday, remember? I mean, of course we didn’t get to hang out with them.” I started gushing.

“Are you forgetting your dinner date with Mr. Youngest-Jonas?” Kaycee asked me.

“Of course not,” I replied, “And Frankie’s the youngest. Nick is the second youngest.”

Kaycee just replied with “Still.”

We showed our passes to the guard after having to ask directions to back stage. It was absolutely amazing back there. There was a catering table, lots of comfy looking couches, dressing rooms, and tons of musical equipment.

“Hey!” I heard a voice calling from someplace, and looked ahead. It was Joe.

“Omigosh, Hi Joe!” Kaycee exclaimed, letting go of my arm and running over to him.

That’s not the way to a guys’ heart, Kaycee. I thought to myself as Nick & Kevin came up behind Joe.

Nick gave me one of those cute no-teeth grins and came over to say hi.

“Hey Ali. Did you like the show?” He fiddled with his hands before shoving them in his jeans pocket. I wondered how that worked for him, because his jeans were super skinny.

“Yeah I loved it! Best show ever.” I said. Kevin introduced himself to me, which he by no means needed to, of course I knew who he was! And then Joe did the same.

“So you girls must of won our meet & greet passes?” Kevin asked as we all sat down on some couches.

“Actually, no. Nick gave me two passes after the sound check.” I replied, causing Nick to blush. Obviously, he hadn’t told his brothers who I was.

“Oh you did, didja Nicholas?” Kevin pestered.

“Yes, Kevin, I did.” Nick snapped at his older brother, but then his tone changed, “This is Ali. The girl I took out for dinner on Monday night, remember?”

“That’s right! I remember you! We signed your jean shorts for you at the meet & greet.” Joe exclaimed. Now was my turn to blush.

That was followed by a round of laughter, causing me to blush harder.

We chatted with the boys for another half hour before they said they needed to go, and we agreed. Joseph gave Kaycee his number, which made her freak out, and they promised we’d hang out soon.

Kaycee was non-stop chatter all the way back to the room. After we changed into our pajamas and got ready for bed, we sank into bed to go to sleep. Kaycee was snoring quite quickly after she laid down, but I couldn’t get Nick off my mind.

Maybe he’ll hang out with us tomorrow. That’d be cool. I wonder what they’re going to do when we dock in the Bahamas tomorrow afternoon? Hopefully they won’t be bombarded with fans and we’ll still be able to chill like they promised. Ugh! What are you saying, Ali!?! You have the whole week ‘s ship ride back to LA with them. There’s plenty of time for hanging out.

I let the last thought sink into my brain before it shut down for the night.

Chapter Three

I had just gotten out of the shower when I heard my cell phone ringing. I quickly grabbed a towel and put it around my body before opening the bathroom door. Kaycee had gone to the upper deck to look in the gift stores, and I told her I would meet up with her later. I grabbed my phone off my bed, glancing at the clock on the table which read ‘5:00’, before opening my cell.

“Hello? This is Ali Parker.” I said in a sweet voice. I wondered if my mom was calling me.

“Hey, Ali. This is Nick…Jonas.” The male voice on the other end of the line sounded shy.

I about dropped the phone. Nick had called me, first!

“Uh, hey Nick.” Why did I sound so dumb!?

“I was uhm wondering, if you maybe wanted to go and get a bite to eat later tonight?” Nick asked.

“Yeah, sure! I mean, uhm that’d be great!” I replied, trying to keep it cool.

“Does 6:00 sound fair?” From his tone I could tell he was looking at his watch.

“Yeah, six o’clock, great.” I exclaimed.

“Awesome. See you then…oh, what’s your room number?”

“277.” I replied. He said “Okay” and then we hung up.

As I shut my phone I resisted the urge to scream. I bolted back to the bathroom to quickly change into some clothes before going out to find Kaycee.

When I found Kaycee, she was sitting at the ice-cream bar, picking at a delicious looking mound of ice cream with strawberries all over it.

“Kaycee, you will never believe who just called me.” I said, grabbing the seat next to hers.

“Oh my gosh…let me guess. It was him…” She leaned in closer to whisper in my ear, “Nick Jonas?”

“Yesss!!!” I practically sang out. I blushed when I saw some other girls looking at me, and lowered my voice. “Yeah, he asked me out to dinner with him tonight! He’s coming by our room at six to get me.”

“Well then why are you dressed like that, girly? Oh, no time for an answer, come on, we’ve got to get you ready.” She said. Before I knew it she was dragging me by the wrist back to our cabin. She locked the door behind us once we were inside, and then grabbed a stool from our table and placed it in the bathroom.

“Sit.” Came her simple instruction. I obeyed, and she got set to work on my make-up. She brushed a bronze blush over my cheeks; put black mascara and eyeliner on to make my eyes pop, and then put a little purple eye-shadow on my lids.

Once she was finished with my make-up, she quickly set to work beginning to style my hair. As she sculpted it into a side-swept bun, leaving most of it loose and curly (think this: http://www.weddingdetail.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/wedding-hair-styles.jpg) , we discussed the latest gossip…about celebrities of course.

“There. Finished!” She exclaimed when she was finally done with my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror, and my jaw dropped.

“Don’t you like it?” She asked.

“I love it!” I exclaimed, wrapping my arms around her in a hug. “It looks like I’m going to a prom or something.” We giggled.

I got up and dug around in my dresser drawer to find a top to match my eye-shadow; luckily I had brought with me a nice long flowing purple tank. I changed into it, and then put on a white pair of capris. I decided to add something else, and threw on a black flowing sweater.

“You look amazing.” She said, turning me around in front of the mirror.

“Thanks.” I looked at the clock that was sitting on the bathroom counter. It read 5 minutes till six. “Oh my gosh, he’s going to be here in 5 minutes!” I ran out of the bathroom to grab my purse; I shoved my cell phone inside, whipped out a tube of lipgloss and smeared the gloss on my lips.

“One last thing!” Kaycee exclaimed. She went over to her side of the room and dug through her jewelry box, pulling out 3 gold & silver bangles. They matched perfectly with my dirty blonde hair.

I had just finished putting the bangles on when I heard a knock at the door. I squealed and dashed towards it, stopping only for a second to peer in the bathroom at the mirror, then walk normally towards the door.

I opened it to reveal Nick Jonas, in a black tux, with, amazingly, a light purple button-down shirt under the black jacket. I turned back to Kacyee and mouthed: “Oh my gosh, we’re colour coordinated on our first date!” She gave me a big smile.

“Are you ready?” Nick’s question broke my coordination-shock and I turned back towards him.

“Yes.” I said, walking out towards him. Kaycee shouted a “Have a good time!” behind me as I slipped the door closed.

“You l-look b-beautiful.” Nick stuttered, trying to cover it up with one of his adorable closed-lip grins.

“Thanks. You don’t look so bad yourself.” I blushed. “So, where are we dining this fine night?” I joked, giggling a little. Nick seemed to have caught on and he laughed some too.

“I think you’ll like it.” Nick said. I was sure I would. The only thing I was worried about was being attacked by fan girls when they saw me with Nick. Of course, I should have known that he was one step ahead of me. He pulled me into a side door which had a staircase leading down under deck.

“Where are we going?” I asked curiously as I held onto his hand so I wouldn’t slip on the practically vertical stairs. I could see his cheeks were a rosy-red; he was blushing.

“The restaurant. We’re just taking a short-cut…well more like a safer short-cut.” He explained.

I readjusted the bangles on my wrist as I landed off the steps and followed him through the darkened halls. I had a feeling we weren’t supposed to be down here.

“Are we supposed to be down here?”

“Technically…not really. But what they don’t know won’t hurt them.” Nick explained. Suddenly I heard a door opening further down the hall; Nick grabbed my wrist and we flattened out against the wall.

Wow. Nicholas is a bad boy!! I figured this was something Joe would do, not Nick.

“That was close.” Nick said once the person had disappeared up a case of stairs. He dropped my wrist and motioned for me to keep following him.

“Yeah, I”ll say.” I replied, smiling. Nick gave me a smile too, with teeth this time! I held back a giggle and walked after him. Finally we came to another set of stairs.

“Here we are.” Nick said, pointing up. “Ladies first.”

Aww, such a gentleman! Of course, now I was glad I hadn’t worn a skirt…otherwise I would’ve known another reason for ‘ladies first’, if you know what I mean.

I started up the steps, and when I reached the top, I shoved open the hatch. It fell open and I realized we were climbing into the storage room of the restaurant. Now how we weren’t going to get caught, I had no clue.

When Nick had put the hatch back down over the staircase, he led me thru a door and into the actual part of the restaurant. Surprisingly, it was quite empty. We were greeted by a host who led us to a private booth and gave us menus. I didn’t hesitate to order a strawberry lemonade, and Nick ordered a Diet Coke.

It didn’t take long for our food to arrive after we had ordered. We both had ordered something simple - a huge bacon burger and loads of fries. Between eating, Nick & and I practically played ‘20 Questions’.

“So, is it my turn?” I asked after taking a gulp of my lemonade.

“Yeah, it is.” Nick replied, wiping some mustard off his mouth.

“Okay…” I took a bite of my burger while I mulled another question over in my head. “Would you ever date a fan?”

Nick’s eyes shot up to mine when my question had reached him. I could tell he was trying to hide back a laugh as he finished chewing.

“Yeah.” He said. The tone of his voice made it sound so obvious, but I was clueless. He read the confusion on my face and answered: “What am I doing right now?”

Smooth, Nick J. Smooth.

I smiled in return. “I guess that’s a yes.” I giggled.

“Now it’s my turn.” He said, smiling back.

“What’s your favorite song of mine and my brothers?”

“Uhm, well, I’d have to say ‘Black Keys’ off the new album is definitely my new favorite; aside from that, ‘Goodnight & Goodbye’.” I said.

Nick only had time to nod before the waiter came to take our plates and give the bill to Nick.

“My turn.” I said, “How much?”

“What?” Nick looked puzzled as he pulled out his wallet to pay for the bill.

“How much is the bill?” I asked.

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing I can’t cover.” Nick flashed me a sly grin, happy he was able to dodge the question with the actual answer. I wasn't so satisfied. I reached out and snatched the bill from under his wallet as he counted the money.

$35. I guess Nick wasn’t lying. Even I could cover that. Haha.

“Hey!” Nick gasped when he saw I was holding the bill.

“You were right. It’s nothing you can’t cover.” I giggled.

After Nick had paid we made our way out the actual door - instead of going down the secret way.

“I had a great time tonight, Nick.” I said when we’d finally reached my cabin.

“M-me too, Ali.” Nick replied. For a second I thought he was leaning into kiss me, but I felt his arms wrap around my back, and I hugged him back.

“I guess I’ll see you later, then.” I said, slipping my key into the lock on the door.

“Yeah, I’ll see you later.” Nick said.

~.Nick’s POV.~

After I’d walked Ali back to her cabin, I took the under deck hall back to mine and my brothers’ suite. I locked the deadbolt after I had let myself in, and tossed my room key on the table inside the door.

“Nicholas, is that you?” Joe asked from the main part of the room.

“Yes, Joe.” I replied. Why did he insist on using my full name like I was still a child?

“So how was your date?” Kevin asked.

“It was great. I had a good time.” I replied.

“Nicky’s in l-o-v-e!” Joe exclaimed, spelling out the word. “Nicky’s in love!”

“I am not, Joe! Stop it! Stop it! I exclaimed. I wanted to swipe Joe right off his feet as he bounced on his bed. I shrugged out of my tux and into something a little more comfortable before joining Kevin in playing Guitar Hero.

By the time I was getting ready for bed, Mom and Dad were just coming in from a date of their own.

“Joe, Nick, Kevin!” My dad’s voice came from the hallway.

“Yes, Dad?” We all said in unison.

“Just making sure you’re all here.” He replied. My mom came into the bedroom we were in and gave each of us a kiss.

“How was your date, Nick?” She asked me as she gave me a kiss on my forehead.

“It was good, Mom. Thanks for asking.” I replied.

Joe gave me a pouty look when I replied to Mom. “What?” I asked him.

“You weren’t that nice when me and Kevin asked how your date was.” Sometimes Joe could be such a little kid. In response, I just shrugged my shoulders, and laughed when he pouted more.

“You guys should probably get ready for bed. Lots of things going on tomorrow.” My mom suggested to Joe & Kevin, who were still emerged in the TV show we had been watching on Life.

I got up from my place on the couch and went to change into my pajamas, and brush my teeth before I climbed back into my bed, turning the light off.

Chapter Two

There he was. The boy in my dreams this morning. Right there. On the same ship as me. Was that a coincidence or what? Maybe I was dreaming again…I slapped myself in the head once. Nope, not dreaming. This was reality, baby. And Nicholas Jerry Jonas and his two brothers were sitting right in front of me.

“Hi, what’s your name?” The youngest Jonas asked a fan. I couldn’t hear what she said in reply, because at that moment the rest of the girls in line started screaming again.

“You know what this means, right?” I asked Kaycee, trying to hold back an earsplitting scream. She shook her head.

“We’re getting in that line. Our rooms can wait till later, can’t they?” I asked, a big grin began spreading across my face.

“Of course they can! Do you have anything for them to sign? I’ve got this book.” She replied, holding up the Jonas’ book.

“No…uh… I know! I’ll have them sign my jeans shorts!” I exclaimed, putting my hands around the material that was at the top of my thigh.

“Alright.” Kaycee replied, a little shakily.

Before she could say any more, I grabbed her by the wrist again and made a dash for the end of the line. Luckily, there weren’t too many girls before us; in no time, we’d be speaking to the Jonas Brothers themselves!

We hadn’t been standing in line for more than 5 minutes when I caught Kaycee checking her watch. I looked over at her, and when I looked up, Nick was staring right at me. When he saw me noticing him, he quickly looked back down.

Way to go, Ali. The cutest rock-star on the ship just looked at you, and you couldn’t even manage half of a smile?!

It took us ten more minutes to get to the front of the line. I kept noticing Nick glancing at me between signatures and photos. What was he staring at? Did I have something on my face?

“Kaycee, is there anything on my face?” I asked her, erring on the side of caution.

“Nothing out of the ordinary; you know, eyes, nose, mouth. You’re golden. Why?” She asked, looking towards the Jonas’.

“Just curious, is all.” I replied. I turned back to the Jonases, and realized I was holding up the line. I blushed. Great way to make an impression on the Jonas Brothers and the fan girls, Alison!

“Hi, what’s your name?” Joe asked me as soon as I stepped in front of him.

“Alison, b-but you can call me Ali. It d-doesn’t matter.” Great. I was stuttering.

“Hey Ali,” A voice whispered to Joe’s right and I looked over, seeing that the voice belonged to Nick. How could his voice in my dream earlier this morning sounded just like it did in real life, when I’d never met him before? I quickly narrowed it down to all the YouTube videos I’d watched of the boys.

“Hi, Nick.” I replied, giving the biggest smile I could muster.

“Uhm, do you have anything for us to sign?” Joe asked curiously. I caught him eyeing me, obviously searching for some type of paper or a book or something of signing-matter.

“I don’t. I was wondering, could you…sign my shorts?” I gulped. The worst is over…or not: All three of the Jonas boys blushed at my question, but Joe didn’t hesitate for too long. He came around the table to sign the front of my jeans; Nick & Kevin followed his lead, and then I gave each of them a hug. How I didn’t pass out, I had no clue.

I waited near the exit area for Kaycee to get her book signed. The entire time Nick kept glancing over at me. The look on his face told me he hadn’t said what he’d wanted to, but he wasn’t sure if he should say it now. Finally Kaycee was finished getting their signatures, receiving hugs, and oh, did I mention, taking pictures with them separately and then a group photo? I’d only wished I hadn’t put my camera in my suitcase.

“Oh my Jonas!” Kaycee exclaimed as she made her way over to me. I blushed, knowing that she said it loud enough for the Jo Bros to hear. I looked over my shoulder: Kevin & Joe were signing autographs but Nick was looking at me again, this time with a big smile on his face! Oh great, he totally thinks I just said that. I may be Jonas obsessed, but I wouldn’t yell OMJ as I’m walking away from them! They must think it’s soo weird.

“Oh by the way, Nick wanted me to give you this.” Kaycee handed me a slip of paper.

I read what was on it, having to do a double-take until I realized it was Nick J’s cell number!

“OH MY JONAS!” I said it…ok so more like screamed it…louder than Kaycee had. I sneaked a look over my shoulder. Nick was laughing at my reaction, knowing that I had definitely been the one to blurt the three words out that time. I blushed a little, but inside, I couldn’t believe my heart hadn’t exploded yet.

Kaycee and I settled ourselves down and then made our way to our room.
It was amazing: There were 2 loft beds, and the room had to be about 25x25, because it was huge! Larger than I would of thought rooms on a ship could be!
We began unpacking our suitcases and filling our sides of the dresser with our clothes.

I had just finished my suitcase and was starting to unload my make-up and bathroom accessories in the bathroom when I heard Kaycee shout from the main room.

“So, when are you gonna call Nick? By the way, you’re so lucky!” She said. I looked around the wall of the bathroom to see her plastering her side of the room with posters of JB. I began to wonder if there would be any room for mine when I saw the stack she had yet to hang up!

Call him. Boy I hadn’t thought of that yet. I mean, he just gave me the number. I’m sure he’s still at the meet & greet.

“Later. You know, before dinner or something.” I replied, going back to my unpacking.

“That’s if he doesn’t call you first.” Kaycee giggled.

“What?” I reappeared around the wall. Kaycee’s words shocked me and I flung myself against the door jam with such force, I kind of knocked the wind out of myself. I put my hand to my chest, took a deep breath and then stumbled over to Kaycee.

“I kinda gave him your cell number, because he might of asked for it…” Kaycee said carefully.

“OH MY GOSH! Thank you, thank you! I can’t believe Nick Jonas has my number. You are a-mazing!!!” I squealed, jumping up and down. “Just to thank you, you can take Nick’s number so you can…, I dunno, hook up with Joe or something!”

“Ahhh!!! Wow! Thanks, Ali!” Kaycee replied. We both locked hands and began jumping up and down, squealing.

Now that’s what I call rockin’ the boat.

End of Chapter Two

Chapter One

“I love you, Ali Parker.” The boy’s voice was just as sweet and smooth as his face. His hand reached towards me, caressing my cheek… “Alison.”

“Alison!” The voice wasn’t in my dreams anymore. “Alison Rose Parker!”

Gosh! Why did Mom insist on waking me up from thee most perfect dream I’d had since summer started?

“Alison, get up!” This time her voice was louder, and without opening my eyes I could tell she was standing in my doorway.

“I’m up.” I grumbled, half-asleep.

“You’re going to miss the ship if you don’t get out of bed right now.”

That got my attention! My name’s Alison Parker. I’m 16 years old. I’m determined to make this summer the best; of course it does help that I’m going on the Disney Channel cruise for a whole two weeks, and my parents won’t be with me. What could be more perfect?

I kicked the covers off of myself and stood up, putting my feet in my fuzzy slippers. My Nick Jonas poster caught my attention right away.

“If I can only be with you in my dreams, then let me sleep forever.” I crooned at the poster, tracing my hands on the paper-lips of my pop-star crush.

“Ali, are you up?” My mother asked as she passed my bedroom door.

It’s official, Mom definitely knows how to ruin the perfect moment. I sprinted to the bathroom and quickly took a shower, throwing on my bathrobe before coming back into my own room to change into the outfit I’d picked out the previous night. I threw a baby-blue tank top on over my bra, and pulled on a pair of super-short jean shorts. Perfect.

I pulled my hair into a pony-tail, leaving the bangs hanging down to the sides, applied a soft layer of make-up, and then lugged my two suitcases downstairs and set them by the front door.

I found my Mom in the kitchen, hurriedly trying to spread cream cheese on a bagel.

“Mom.” I said, trying to get her attention.

“Oh, good, you’re up. Here,” She tossed me the bagel, and I barely caught it. “Let’s go!”

“Mom, you sound almost as excited as I am.” I laughed, grabbing one of my suitcases by the handle while she grabbed the other one, and following her outside to her waiting silver Chevrolet Tahoe.

“I just don’t want you to miss the ship. You insisted on going on this cruise, and it cost me and your father a lot of money; I don’t want it to go to waste.” She loaded my suitcases in the back of the car and motioned for me to get in.

I obliged, hopping into the passenger seat.

“Come on Mom, I know you’re just trying to get this over quickly so that I won’t have to see you crying.” I muttered from behind my mouth-full of bagel.

She gave me a look that straight-then-and-there told me I was right, but she wasn’t going to admit it.

“Mom, it’s only for two weeks. From L.A. to the Bahamas and back. No biggie, I’ll be fine.” I said after swallowing.

Mom just nodded. I knew deep down that she wasn’t speaking because she was trying to hold back the tears.

Before I knew it, we were already at the Disney Dock. Now, I’d never seen the Titanic in person before, but this ship made me think that there could be nothing bigger. I gasped as I opened up my door, and stepped out into the bright sunshine. I immediately pulled my glasses from my head and put them over my eyes.

“Now this, is a cruise ship!” I exclaimed, going to the back to help my mom unload.

As soon as we had my suitcases from the back of the car, we were walking down the boardwalk. The line for boarding was surprisingly short, and within seconds I was departing from my mom for a whole 2 weeks. I waved goodbye as I towed my suitcases behind me up the entrance.

I was greeted by a kind luggage-boy who took my suitcases from me.

“What’s your room number?” He asked.

“Oh, uhm…277.” I replied, checking my ticket. He nodded before going off in the direction of the rooms.

I was left standing on the deck, having no clue where to go. I figured I should probably introduce myself to a few girls, so that I would make a couple of friends. I looked around at my prospects and saw a pretty blonde girl sitting on a beach chair, reading the Jonas Brothers’ book from their Burnin’ Up tour.

I skipped over, and plopped down on the chair next to hers.

“I see you’re a Jonas Brothers fan.” I mentioned, pointing at the book.

“Uh, hi. Yeah, I am.” She said, putting the book down in her lap.

“Oh, my name is Alison Parker, by the way. It’s nice to meet you.” I held my hand out for a shake, and she took it.

“Kaycee Reese.”

“So…” I said. I wasn’t much for starting conversations, at least, not with girls. I mostly had guy friends back at school.

“Do you want to check out our rooms?” Kaycee asked.

“Sure. What room number do you have?”

“I’m in room 277. What about you?”

“No way! I’m in room 277. We share a room!” I exclaimed.

“That’s awesome.” She smiled. After we exchanged cell phone numbers, we got up and headed in the direction I’d seen the luggage-boy going.

As we walked past the stage, I heard some girls giggling and screaming.

“What’s up?” I asked Kaycee. She shrugged her shoulders. I decided to investigate, but I wasn’t going by myself; I grabbed Kaycee by the wrist and tugged her along with me.

“Oh…my…Jonas!” Kaycee and I screamed in unison. We looked at each other, our mouths gaping open. Did we seriously just see whom we thought we’d seen?
